that is typical situation for any wireless signal.

remember the Streamyx advertisement showing "lookalike-Michael Lai" shoving the modem/laptop outside the window? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

if YES wimax interferes with umobile, why not to celcom/maxis/digi too?

or better still, affecting directly to P1?

if such interference will occur, would MCMC assign wimax spectrum to wimax operators, knowing it will interfere with existing telco giants (celcom or maxis)?

ok guys/gals, please keep the discussion back to umobile.

Read general rules #2: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=boardrules

maxis stuffs goes to maxis thread. same goes to ytl yes.

dont troll and show your maxis/ytl/celcom/digi/p1 speedtest in here.

you wouldnt want umobile users show the high-speed speedtest in maxis/ytl/celcom/digi/p1 threads, right?

keep the discussion clean and constructive to help each other. wink.gif

Added on November 28, 2010, 8:33 ambtw, have any1 done speedtest in BTS? wonder what do ppl really get tongue.gif

the network there is hspa+ already. 7.2mbps modem users should be now "unlocked" with its potential.

mdma shows my prepaid profile is 4096kbps. that means my max speed would just topped at this?? (someone confirm)

if true, we gonna wait for full commercial launch b4 umobile allows users to go extra speed biggrin.gif

I use to get full bars or 80% at least a month back. Now it's like Umobile network is crippled in Ipoh.

If this continues, I'll terminate their service soon.
*
week signal is one matter.

poor speed is another. most probably due to congestion on this small area. start bugging umobile to expand more basestation there to cope with ever increasing users there.

for prepaid, rm68 for 5GB ....its the best among the celcos here thumbup.gif

btw, prepaid only rm68 package and no rm40, 2GB package?
*
the website already shown variety of plans that can be tagged onto the prepaid.

what i meant earlier (prepaid+ub68) is the best combination of plan+quota+price+speed for heavy users. sweat.gif

plans other than ub68 has PAYU rate after specific quota. 2 SMS notifications will be sent to user. but if you use it mainly for laptop/computer and without using the dashboard software, you could missed out the SMS alert.

imo, ub68 is best used for handset/computer.

other plans are best used for handset or low-usage users that hardly hit the specified quota for each plan.

applies to prepaid too?

thanks
*
of course.

it does not matter whether prepaid or postpaid. the chargin/quota is calculated based on the broadband plan, not the voice plan.

p/s: Throttling removed! rclxm9.gif

Call, their email responding sucks.

Unlike Maxis's.

I think I'll call later too lol

email takes time for reply (especially on weekend).

call is better.

I'm terminating my Umobile if things doesn't get better here in Ipoh.

My latest interest will be Maxis Broadband.
Due to the overwhelming jump to Umobile in Ipoh, Maxis network has now become very pleasantly good. They even have HSUPA in Ipoh now.

My speedtest with Maxis gives around 4mbps download and my uploads can reach 800kbps-1mbps.

It is never good to follow the crowd.
*
you've said that many many times.

i'd suggest to terminate first. or get prepaid to use it every alternate month to see if there is any improvements.

since your maxis is getting 4mbps, this is a better package for you then.

also, even if umobile speed improves, you wont get 4mbps anyway.

umobile got hsupa in ipoh? what is the speed?

around 6 ~ 9 hours? LOL.. I whole day at home so the internet is on for messenger

for this month I already used almost 31 hours and almost 900mb gone
*
this is quite ok.

i open my browser (with lots of RSS), facebook, IM ... 1 sleep night (10pm-7am the next day) cost me 1.2GB.

now, i dont go leave my connection ON while sleeping. bandwidth gone while doing nothing! LOL!

So much for Umobile customer support. I'm heading down to their service outlet to terminate in the next few days.

RM68 is well spent elsewhere even if they are more expensive.

What's the use of getting only 400kbps while paying full rate every month when I hardly use up the 5GB cap limit.
*
the best way for you to spend well your RM68 is get other services.

not just you. I would do that too if i get 400kbps.

i can never get decent speed from maxis/digi/celcom/p1 at my area. that's why umobile is better for me.

like i said previously, you area could be different, mine could be different, others would be different too.

complaining everyday here doesnt get your speed improved. we can only hope things improved.

heck, i also want 4mbps download speed! only umobile gives me 2.5-3.5mbps speed, consistently (at areas where i am).

your maxis is quite good actually, better stick with it. thumbup.gif

Try contacting them via @umobile018. Maybe they can escalate your problem from another channel thumbup.gif
