QUOTE(Quantum_thinking @ Dec 16 2010, 01:06 PM) I see. Thanks a lot. for the 42mbps speed, dont expect to get at this speed from end-user (unless you are very very near the upgraded-towers that serve 42mbps)If they are gonna provide users with this speed, i hope that they would give us more data quota. No use if have high speed but low data quota.. hope they increase to maybe 20GB from now 10GB? dont want macam ytl yes: 11mbps (average) but at pay-as-you-use rate. you will sure get "credit" shock because faster speed = user more quota quicker = burn more credit fast fast This post has been edited by cybpsych: Dec 16 2010, 02:33 PM |

QUOTE(iipohbee @ Dec 17 2010, 10:48 PM) It is already said in their FAQ. A different pricing plan would be out when launch. It'll not be the same as the current RM68 unlimited plan. start compare with "yes" after 3 years of operation: customers increase, bandwidth usage sure increase if ppl excessively use it. http://www.u.com.my/faqs/42mbps-mobile-broadband-service 3-10mbps makes it even slower than Yes. then we'll see how fast "yes" can offer; in terms of handling increase of customers and bandwidth. am not expecting ub68 to go with higher 42mbps. maybe a bit more, rm88 or rm98 or rm108. QUOTE(Quantum_thinking @ Dec 21 2010, 12:36 AM) What to do? This is a democratic country. People are free to do what they want, the only thing they should be concern of is the consequences. what lack thereof is education of FUP itself.in this case, I hope that the FUP can do more than just throttling based on the data usage. noobs (newbies) cant even understand what the heck is FUP all about. no telco really bother to explain the effect of FUP to user or to each broadband plans. |

2 out of 3 questions already answered in the preview:
1) how much is the modem? QUOTE Because this is a state-of-the-art modem, don’t expect the pricing, even subsidised, to resemble the prices of modems that you can buy today in the Malaysian marketplace. 2) is it unlock? QUOTE The modem will be subsidised in return for a contract, and will likely not be locked, as is usually the case in Malaysia. 3) when will um be selling it? QUOTE As for the service’s launching, it will be sometime in early 2011, as early as mid January. |

QUOTE(botakbin @ Dec 23 2010, 12:45 PM) Hey I've read the fair usage policy and all that.. But just to be sure, wanna ask, if i exceed the 5gb limit will i be charged? Cos i read u mobile's page on fair usage policy it stated that it can charge up to 176 bucks and stop the service and all that. Kinda blur. UB68 plan = no charge after exceeding FUP quota. <-- which is why it is called "Unlimited" quota not speedother plans = PAYU (RM0.01/KB) rate after exceeding quota (no FUP) <-- there will be SMS notifications to alert you when you reach balance 30MB and 0MB. However, maximum cap is RM176 (in case you accidentally over use) |

QUOTE(iipohbee @ Dec 27 2010, 01:01 PM) Strange, a uMobile trooper telling people indirectly that u tak suka u keluar? only yes4g got (storm)trooper. Wow excellent customer service by uMobile. I'm still waiting for my waiver until today if you don't want my rants. and too bad, they dont have coverage at my house. just grey coverage = coming soon in 2011. Added on December 27, 2010, 1:19 pm QUOTE(SoulPower @ Dec 27 2010, 01:17 PM) yes, no data (quota) allowance. just slower speed after 5-10GB. keep on continue to use until month end and just pay flat of RM68.This post has been edited by cybpsych: Dec 27 2010, 01:20 PM |

QUOTE(SoulPower @ Dec 27 2010, 01:41 PM) It is so confused it say unlimited but it will lower the speed after 5GB which is means got quota, right? unlimited quota = RM68 per month flat. however FUP (fair use policy) applies at about 5GB (some user said only 10GB) which means speed throttled to 128kbps (as reported by users here earlier)http://www.u.com.my/broadband/plans Wat is the speed once over the quota? |
