QUOTE(iipohbee @ Jan 23 2011, 12:35 PM) I use a few devices my tablet, HSUPA enabled HP and laptop at multiple locations for the tests. At Greentown area, the upload could reach as high as 1.8mbps on HSUPA while at home the most around 700kbps. uMobile's network is still old and while not saying that they are bad, you get good download speeds only if your signal strength is very good. my hometown at Manjoi,Ipoh..with DIGI i got 2 bar HSPA signal the speed average 1mbps only, then i switch to umobile using same usb modem, got full bar hsdpa but the speed i got 2-3 mbps....maxis and celcom always got full bar signal but the speed not stable and always DC..my think is,although u got gud signal u still dont get gud download if area are crowded with same user... in crowded area or peak time, the gud think about digi is their able to maintain the speed at least 600 kbps ,still usable compare to celcom n maxis...umobile still new ,just wait n see in few months later.. QUOTE(iipohbee @ Jan 23 2011, 10:09 AM) DiGi is getting slower nowadays in my area. Someone must be hogging it in my area because when I tried doing a speed test in the middle of Ipoh town and Greentown my speed could reach 2-3mbps with uploads of ~1.5mbps. At home with same signal level only getting around 1mbps with upload of ~700kbps. My MiFi device settings page shows DiGi is already running a HSPA around Ipoh. It displays "HSPA". But one advise is you can never compromise speed with cheap pricing packages. The cheaper the packages, you're more likely to have slower speeds because there would be more people on it having the same idea as you. at least they are up to date, i guess Celcom is still HSDPA

QUOTE(debbierowe @ Jan 23 2011, 10:41 PM) i got cap after 1 gb download? You sure you only use 1GB? Try to restart the modem a few times and see. Maybe it is not capping at all. This post has been edited by Quantum_thinking: Jan 24 2011, 12:23 AM

You'll know that HSUPA is made available in your area if you're getting upload speeds of over 800kbps till 1.8mbps.

Getting Started

|
hi I'm a bb user for U mobile plan. It seems like we can't use EDGE to online at all when there's no 3g coverage. It's been troubling these few days when I'm out of Umobile coverage. I read from previous thread which stated that when it switched to Celcom it'd charge?? which mean I'd get charged if I access to facebook or twitter with Celcom EDGE?

QUOTE(TT hotmail @ Jan 25 2011, 08:34 AM) u only can connect to bb when um3G appear, or else u cant. just to be clear, BB is Broadband, only UM3G on the other BB, BlackBerry, BIS should be nationwide, regardless, 2G or UM3G.
