coz some fren use the n900 for review before~ and his opinion is that the n900 not that great due to lack of support~
now i am undecided~
Yup, previously I have mentioned that Nokia has long abondon the ship, everything is up to the community.
Problem is, many people don't know where to find the software and app, and have little knowledge about smartphone and they claim the N900 is not powerful. Maybe those people are looking for great camera, so if camera not good = not powerful. Or some people looking for multi-touch, so no multi-touch = not powerful, or apps, etc. They totally get the wrong meaning of powerful.

Usually if u are not sure its best to get iphone or android. Because everyday ppl will brain wash u here and there.
Its like u have a sniper rfile. If u do not know how to use or handle the sniper rifle is useless cant even kill anything. If u pass it to a professional they can even kill someone from a mile away or even at close range.
Good luck mate.
This just my opinion no offense. I got n900 and have no regrets even i have an iphone now

Actually i have zero experience in maemo or even linux too. Because i get n900 not because my friend say whether its good or not because i know whats N900 is capacble of.
First decide what you want by deciding what the purpose you are buying for. If stop gadget for a long time better get iphone because Maemo is for more advance user. if u expect for super graphics, alot of games and etc etc u wont find it here. If u looking for exploring, testing new application, customizing, hacking, cracking, have something different Nokia n900 is for u

You can always check YouTube for walkthrough guide on the phone OS and features, how it look like, etc. When I want to buy the N900, it was not even available in Malaysia yet, not even AP set. Some people bring it in and selling for > RM3K... I check out everything from YouTube, how the OS look like, how the messaging look like, etc. I got hooked because it's totally different from any smartphone out there, it's outstanding, nothing can come close. When some companies start it bring it in, it's still around RM2.4K ~ RM 2.6K, and not long after, lowyat.net AP seller start selling around RM2.2K.
I guess you can check out this review, which will tell you the pros and cons, and finally the end about the powerful features of the phone. It also mentioned about the type of users that is not suitable to use this phone:

As per previous mentioned, Nokia has abandon the ship, there may be updates, but might take long time and mostly probably bug fixing? They're concentrating on MeeGo now, Maemo is their sort of testing ground. Might as well check out the community which they really have done A LOT and provide many missing features, customization to the OS. There're so many things that you will NOT find in any smartphones today, this is a tablet (in short, think about a NOTEBOOK with TOUCHSCREEN, shrink down to the size of a handphone).
No news about Flash 10; Nokia is being very cunning and confidential, they don't allow Adobe to give out any information and they themselves also don't want to say anything. But from the supported list, they mention Symbian and MeeGo, no mentioned of Maemo...
By default N900 can support Chinese test, you can read Chinese. For Chinese input, there is 3rd party apps for it. It was launch in HK by the way, so it has to have Chinese support. If you check out the launching in HK and other country (go google or YouTube), you will see their country's Nokia is FAR FAR better than ours, see how they promote and how much they understand the product.

If i start showing u everything its better i charge u a fee i do a manual with photos for you, summary, bar charts of device comparison, List of tasks n900 capable to do vs other devices, start up a chat room to answer every question. hehe right or not. Please understand we are users not sellers even shop cant give u info as detail as us.
The screenshot is to show u the n900 homescreen only. After u get the n900 u might have other complains like where to get this where to get that. Thats the time to ask. I think if u do this to a shop even the shop wont entertain you.
Hope you understand its like you go to shop ask 500 questions then later buy something else do u think the shop be happy?
Buy it then they will be willing to answer all your details question before buy are summary details. Same like us buy it then only ask detailed question or else u keep coming back tell us your friends telling u something else is better
I am not trying to be rude but i just want to be honest like all of us said no matter what we said u wont understand until u use the device. Just my opinion
