hel;lo... i'm well, rather new to this game.. just started 2 days ago.. lvl 7 mes right now...
in-game name is Georth Tempth (or something like that) haha

any idea what should my secondary profession be? mesmer/ele seems pretty common right? i want to be well, unique.. haha suggestions anyone?

also, why do "focus items" cost 100$? and what are "focus item"? besides adding the +3 to energy?

"Precious" means that item sells for a higher price than usual at the NPC I think.

instead of carrying shields like warriors, casters carry items like idols, artifacts, scrolls and stuff like that to increase their mana and sometimes other attribute.

Mesmer Necro seems good.. u can spam hexes and curses to your opponent.

any class combination will work, everyone's got good skills to help out when it comes to gw.

but i somehow felt some primary classes special ability abit lackluster. i remade my n/e to e/n....necro's soul reaping doesn't seem to help alot compared to elementalist's energy boost.

anyone here high lvl necro and got invest into soul reaping? how well does it work in pvp?

the energy gain from soul reaping is too little imo, prob the most underpowered primary class attribute.

well each class has their own of making their energy last longer. monks have divine favor, which increases the power of healing per unit energy. elementalists have energy storage which increases their total energy pool. mesmers have fast casting because most of their spells takes time to cast, and so that they can spam energy sucking spells quicker. rangers have expertise. warriors have adrenaline skills that don't use energy.

necromancer's soul reaping is the best, imo. you get 1 energy per point, per creature death. that means that you can combo animating bone minions, and then killing them with taste of death and get energy from it. there's also dark bond which makes them die faster too. being able to suck 16 energy with one reaping is a lot.

and you can also kill those harmless animals like the birds and lizards to do soul reaping as well.

but i think it's quite useless in PVP situations.. how much energy can u reap? ele's energy storage is surely a better choice imo.

if you only think about pvp, then a lot of necromancer's spells will be useless, especially those involving corpses since well, people don't die as much in pvp.

pvp isn't everything.

it's natural, really. some skills work better in pvp than pve. some the other way around. most straight forward skills work just as well at both.
