if you are into street. stay away from dslr. trust me.

u can use any camera for street,not necessary must be dslr.
dslr can be used also .no one set the rules that u must use dslr. lol

I use Vivitar CV35 only. Bestest. Just point n shoot.

what i mean is, if you don't know for sure whether you can or cannot shoot. there are obviously areas where you know for a fact you can just shoot, and areas where you know for a fact that you either (i) can't shoot or (ii) need to ask permission first. but what about the grey in-between areas? do you err on the safe side and ask first shoot later (and risk missing the shot) or just shoot first, get the shot, and worry about being beaten up later?

Its not a rule as such but I agree with you, its much easier with a smaller discrete looking camera..small sensor... big dof. Also they say blend in with the crowd etc... but it could be the opposite as well. Here I am walking around dressed and acting like a freakin tourist with a "big dslr" around my neck shooting based on "guestimation". That works as well...the locals won't be bothered by the "tourist".


I think we need to look into the question of why they don't allow photography first. If it's a sensitive security thing.. then don't mess around with it. If it's some flea market, they probably don't want you to take pics of their merchandise... then don't take pics of their merchandise. If it's privacy issue, then don't take pin-sharp portraits of them (though its hard to resist)

I took this in the Abercombie&Fitch store in Milan (best damn store I've ever been into... it's like a nightclub staffed with models but that's another story). They don't allow photography naturally because they don't want people to copy their decor and stuff but I suppose a mediocre blur snapshot from the waist of their employee isn't ethically that wrong.

Yea, try some guesstimation shots from ur waist line to avoid any unwanted attention.

didnt look at the exif.... even in masjid u also got >< u were everywhre with slr

u bought ur camera expensively, then leave at home.. what for?

shutter almost 70k ed. save up for job or special occasion. unless i got my boss camera then i snap countless hahaha
