QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Jul 24 2010, 10:33 PM) I did the similar thing in the picture in first post as well, yes I felt guilty too. Kinda afraid he will turn his head and see me shooting at him, and then get chased by him. But I know at least we are not making fun of the person or making any revenue from it While walking quickly chik chak and kept my camera away when passed by him... |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ Aug 5 2010, 09:54 AM) I've tried street photography for about a week now and I think its not easy la. Why? Your post really makes my day, I can imagine how uncomfortable you were. The funniest part is the bolded part. Many times I carry my camera in my bag and I see something interesting, I just couldn't take out my camera to snap. Segan la. I think once you take out camera and raise it to take picture, people will notice. You will start to wonder if people think you're weird etc etc. Secondly, if I stand near someone and just look at that person he will surely notice me. Don't hold camera also he will notice. So I'm worried what will happen if I raise camera to take his pic. Will he be ok with it or scold me loudly in public. Big shame (besar kemaluan). Cry la. Thirdly, when I have my camera raised and looking into the view finder, I fumble with the focus/composition. Also I start to think when do I snap. When is the right "moment"? So feels like I end up standing in front of subject for an eternity and everybody is watching. Wow so panas, cannot tahan. Fourthly, after I managed to take the pic, the subject already notice me because I take so long to focus and compose. So subjects now looking at me. Eye contact!!! Worse, he starts to make funny poses Yes its easier to let your camera hang from the hip and snap snap randomly and hopefully get something, or snipe from far or snipe from behind or snap from inside your car. to get up close with a wide angle or prime lens and do in your face shots is much scarier. But after seeing the cow shot, even though the rest of my pics turned out crap, wow so stim Sometimes I have the same problem as yours too. |

An old shot which I think may fit into this category.

Verbal warning: Please do not use BM in the forum, this is an English based forum. If you insist, there is one and only dedicated thread in Kopitiam that uses BM.

I was having dinner when I suddenly heard the Indian instruments were played. Quickly grabbed my DSLR and snapped this without having the chance to tweak my settings.
