i believe when ur res is lower than other blocks u need it to stop the water from flowing into the res when u are not running ur pc. becz when water fill your res up to the top it will leak somehow.. i guess. will someone correct me if i am wrong

the tube up there is needed if use the top cover as inlet.
look at my GPU loop.
like this i don't need to fill coolant to the whole res.

thanks smile.gif just showcasing my rig because of all the wc parts you can see were bought there in malaysia, from a super nice seller named ezzy biggrin.gif

about the tube inside the res, well, i dont know much about science but my mind tells me that having a tube inside that res will push the warm water coming from the whole system on top of the water inside the res, cool it down a little so the pump will suck cool water instead of the warm water coming from the radiator below. i dont know, its just me smile.gif hehe.

but hey, thanks again! notworthy.gif

bear with me a little,hehe

i think la kan3,the tube act as air bubble eliminator and coolant threshold.if the water is under the tube,u should add more coolant and if the tube is submerge in the water, chances of air bubble forming is very little provided that the pressure in the loop is strong(?). but this is provided the res is in upward position

crazy isn't it brows.gif

in Dennos case, afaik in lyn wc thread, most multioption are positioned like bro owikh, indulgence n alamaklor...

actually so many use laa the tube. it also use to avoid air bubble from going back to the pump if ur inlet and outlet too close.
