Hello y'all,

Anybody knows if our Forte's ipod connector will work with the iphone 4 bumper installed? I heard the bumper isn't compatible with most 3rd party cable/adapters.
*
do you have one (iphone 4 with bumper)? must try.. coz not many owners have iphone.. new iphone 4 summore..
if got only a few and not so many active in LYN. they're more active in MFC portal..

u afraid ip4 not compatible with forte HU & cable or is it just the bumper?

why still everybody compare car with different segment :'(
do you have the comparison with altis and civic?
i like to know is that i really save rm30k++ if i choose forte
*
because only butthurt dugong owner interested to compare.
maybe they wanted to feel that their purchase is justified and feel relieve with that.

if you notice, other owner in city, lancer, altis and civic never bother with that.

Hi Taipan052,
Haha! Thanks for the reminder of my nick!  biggrin.gif My heart already set on Forte but if the new Avante comes along, well got another car to compare with.... since we spending our hard earned RM, must make sure we get the best!  biggrin.gif
*
hahaha.. avanteh!
if i were you, and new avante is here, i think im gonna get avante also.
but still dunno when it will reach our shore.
more or less another one year i guess.

QUOTE(fourteh @ Oct 7 2010, 10:05 PM)
Hi pds_disi,
I understand your frustration in the comparison between segment but you must know that we are comparing cars that can be purchased with  about the same amount of money RM80~RM90K: Forte vs City vs Vios vs Current Avante.

If we compare based on C-segment only, of course Forte will seem great value for money compared to >RM110K Altis & Civic.  biggrin.gif  Even though Forte great value but Civic sells 800~1000 units per month even it is more expensive.

I guess if think with brain then we will buy T or H but if think with heart & with love, then Forte la. Analogy: whether you want to choose a not so good looking girl that can cook & take care of the house (safe but boring) or getting a hot, mysterious & high maintenance girlfriend you want to have fun with everyday!  drool.gif
*
haha.. i like that analogy..
hot = yes (still smokin hot with nice curve and nice ass)
mysterious = yes (dunno on resale value and reliability with malaysian climate but for rest of the world seems okay)
high maintenance = hahaha.. if you give good and regular service, pamper her, and try your best to look around for same quality makeup with lower price its not high maintenance at all.. tongue.gif

same goes to avante, since its korean car, you'll ended the same dilemma in choosing one.. another smokin hot gf that every man dream off. lolz

Added on October 8, 2010, 2:17 amjust came back from test drive (after 30K service last monday and yet havent test drive until today). feels that the iridium does give extra kick.
idling rpm and rpm at 110KM/h slightly lower than usual (just a little bit - because previously I always check rpm and speed on daily basis).

hope it can give better FC due to lower RPM.

does anybody else notice the same? or it's just me that perasan? hahahaha

Hi Taipan052,
Since you had run your car for 30K km, can you share your experience with us? The good bits we already know la  biggrin.gif  Please tell us your problems encountered and some things you wish you had for your Forte. Thanks a lot bro!  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
problem? nothing much.
quite a bunch of owners also already hit 30K marks

Most problematic one is alignment
1) can be fix but not 100% (car will sway to the left after some time). this one stock condition, no change anything just play with the tuning
2) i've change the camber nut (cost me rm120 for both front). This is not advisable as it will void warranty. To play safe, ensure u keep the stock camber nut. So far so good better then stock condition.

Other than that sometime cannot switch on the engine due to brake sensor is not detected
1) Only happened twice so far
2) It was caused by the sensor. Usually i press brake with minimal force. If things like this happened, must press the brake harder.
3) If still cannot switch on by pressing the button then probably the sensor stuck. You must pull out the small little white thing behind the brake. After that maybe go to SC and ask them to put extra lubricant (maybe the lubricant not enough to prevent it from stuck due to wear & tear)

lol. motorbot? jk.

i've read before and you said the SC give u 5w-40 grade engine oil? others mostly stick to 5w-30 grade. maybe related? no?

5w-40 is quite thin and to compare it with 5w-30 is quite minimal difference.

Need to confirm with other 2.0 here on the sound.

the sound consider gla gla gla or ketak ketak?
*
dunno. for me like gla gla. and certain part sound like ketak ketak.
but your prob looks same like the one i've posted above

planning to get this car just wondering are the current users facing really problems with the car?

how about the after sales services? heard it is quite poor cz of naza.

dunno how to answer
better if you could browse around

SC depends. some okay some not. same to dealer SC. but from experience, they're improving over time.
as for problem. no major problem. only tiny miny little issue like yik yik sound due to seat belt or seat and exhaust. all can be resolved one.

2 types of gla gla sound
1. if uphill gla gla is pinging sound need to go back ECU upgrade cause the ignition happened to early.
2. gla gla only when aircon is on need to go back check compressor if bad need to claim warranty.
*
don't you think this apply to all car? if need upgrade then others also should upgrade? or if its ain't broken do not fix?

Thanks Taipan ^^ im guessing ALL cars have PROBLEMS no matter what.

I did some research and also found that the new facelift version is out in Korea and should be coming to Malaysia the question is when laugh.gif

anyhow will go test drive and have a look at the car first. The only problem im worried is that I'll have to wait for 5 - 6 months for the car and when the car is out they launch the new facelift forte.

that'll be really really heart stabbing tongue.gif
*
hmmmm.. dont think the facelift will be here anytime soon.
they have this model in lineup but still dunno the progress

1) Soul (being displayed but no launching date yet, maybe cancel?)
2) Forte Koup (heard end of 2010 only launch, still a rumor)
3) Forte Hatchback? (no news, no rumor, maybe will not be here)
4) Facelift Forte (with GDI engine)

all my previous car used magnetec...
*
epo,

have you check with SC and what they say? don't think its normal. its kinda loud like motorboat engine sound.

how much is magnatec's price? full or semi?

yes Lancer better than Forte
and the new Waja Lancer WALAN is better than Lancer
so best buy WALAN smarter choice!  drool.gif

this is place we only talk about bad choice like the Forte. its so bad that we have so many TTs to share feeling of how bad is Forte
not only that we took time to convoy to other states to ceramah with other Forte owners and tell them how we feel also.
by end of this year we are going to have a Demonstrasi Besar Forte to show how bad is Forte after 1yr old...  cry.gif
*
don't forget to apply for permit. later kena tangkap dengan polis forte.. tongue.gif

Hi guy! Just wanna ask some questions regarding fc. I think my 2.0SX fc is on the high side....13-14L/100km, reading from the meter for the past 2 weeks. In the 1st week when I got the car, the reading was even worse, 15.5L/100km! So far, I've done 600++km and mostly city drive with average speed of 40-50km/h.
Care to share what's the ideal fc in such driving condition as mine cos' I've read here before some Fortezens manage to achieve 9-10L/100km. Is it normal the fc is high during the 'breaking-in' process for a new car or should I send it to SC?
Regards.
*
its absolutely normal. the engine still tight.
expect FC improve after 4K and above.
you also haven't done your 1K service yet.

And to bro KFC, why sound so desperate? Deprive of those things lately ke? Anyway, no thanks, I'll break it myself.

And to bro Adin, yup, mine is SE. Thanks for the feedback. So,what's is your fc like?

Added on October 10, 2010, 10:20 pmOne more thing, I feel that  the car is also sluggish, reluctant to pick-up when step on the accelerator. Is this also normal during initial stage?
*
when u send for 1K service, ask them to adjust throttle cable.
