Guys I have a question. Does the DHD only register rough surfaces for their touch screen or flat surface is fine as well? Because I have big fingers and now I am using 5800 which recognizes my nails touching the screen. If i need to use my fingertips then I most probably can't use this phone =(

On the contrary, the SGS which was their flagship was heavily subsidized from its SRP . In fact for 12 months, it was subsizied until RM900! getting 12 months contract of RM50/month 500MB data cost RM600 only, lower than the subsidized amount 0.o

Maybe tho. Who can resist the 4.3 inch screen! But, SGS is a tough competitor.

this phone uses capacitive touch like the iphone.. u cant use nail or object on it, u only can use ur finger

5800 uses resistive touch screen technology, which characteristics is its very sensitive to very small area inputs (like nail, stylus), but cannot support multitouch and isn't as sensitive when it comes to pressure

the latest touchphones mostly use capacitive screen technology, which is very sensitive to light touches (which makes user experience nicer), and allows for multitouch, but isnt as sensitive as resistive screen, so u cant draw very nice detailed drawings with a stylus . also, capacitive only detects static conductive materials, such as your fingers. if you wear gloves, then it wont work.

@GreenSamurai: If you wanna use something to input, you can buy yourself a Capacitive Stylus. No idea how much the price is.

Sigh that's sad. I tried the Aria today and I was having such a hard time typing on the on-screen qwerty keypad. I really don't want to use a stylus cause it makes typing slower

The Aria has a smaller screen. Anyway you'll probably want to install Swype, where you input text by just gliding over the letters you want without lifting your finger.

they can sell it via RRP too, they did that with the desire.. not to all people.. seems like to the people which is already on plan but still cant renew it.. i hope they do.. i will sure visit all maxis branch that is selling SGS to get it via RRP.. LOL

google news is reporting that both the desire hd and z have failed google type approvals... ie delays in delivery to uk customers. lets hope this does not delay msia's launch too

what is that google testing btw? anyone know.. btw, i havent heard much of the non-root DHD complain here.. not many care about flashing roms and perma-root on the DHD?

but the SGS, samsung malaysia didnt sell it to shops cause maxis had the exclusive rights

Cheap and lousy qones costs RM 15 to Rm 20 ( plenty in ebay) and is a waste of your money. Go for the better ones example iFinger - about RM 100 ; other popular ones are Dagi and Pogo , price also around RM 80 to RM 100. I have tried most from cheap to high end, I'd recommend iFinger. But these stylus can never replace the finger touch which is excellent , just practice and you will master using your finger.
