The Spain star is currently enjoying a holiday after the World Cup finals - but he has told Hodgson he is looking forward to helping the Reds' quest for glory in 2010-11.
"As far as I know, he is looking forward to coming back here on Monday," the boss told reporters at a press conference.
"He is enjoying a holiday, which is a well-deserved break as I don't think he's had one for three years.
"He is spending a lot of time with his family and, as far as I know, is keeping a very low profile and not really speaking to anybody.
"But he has told us he is looking forward to Monday, looking forward to getting back to work and looking forward to playing for Liverpool next season.
"That's what I know and I would suggest all other reports are erroneous." This post has been edited by x13u5t3r: Jul 28 2010, 12:22 AM

For Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson news that striker Fernando Torres is looking forward to another season with the Reds far outweighs the unsurprising announcement by midfielder Javier Mascherano that he wants to leave. Mascherano returned to training on Monday and immediately told his new manager he did not want to stay. The contrast could not be greater with Torres, who has expressed his keenness to come back next week and get stuck into preparations for a new campaign with the Merseysiders. If Torres fulfils that pledge, and despite much speculation about his future there is no reason to doubt he will not, it will give Liverpool a significant boost after months of uncertainty about matters on and off the pitch. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...t.html?ITO=1490

torres staying is indeed a significant boost to the team.. and er soccernet have reports that insua's deal might be falling through if he does not lower his wage demand. I personally thinks he should stay.
Added on July 28, 2010, 3:17 amoh btw i think steven defour is a good choice to replace maschy. As for left back definitely not royston drenthe. Insua FTW!

good news and bad news in one press conference yesterday night.. but we still can have mash if no club wont buy him.. for insua case, both club already agree the transfer fee, now up to insua to discuss the wage. hope he can stay with liverpool. so far RH still confident bring new faces into liverpool, hope its a good sign cos we have nearly 2 weeks for season start. for media, i suggest read liverpool echo and liverpool website instead. otherwise u can get heart attack read those rumours.

Imagine, if Macherano sales, can get return of:
1) MC - SWP, De Jong, Bridge 2) Inter Milan - Muntari 3) Add experience stricker.
Wow, our liverpool team, not only english player quota meet the new BPL rules, but also improve the squad quality....Hopefully to see this happen soon...
