@ William : Yeah shouldnt be a problem, he said the shop in Osaka has like 1000 pieces of M42 lens, have to slowly see 1 by 1.

He should be going soon (sometime this year) biggrin.gif

Sure thing, hope the 85mm F2.0 can fill in for my next portrait lens.

RM150ish for the lens, add RM80 for the AF confirm chip + mount. Settle!

I just read a review of this lens, the photos dont seem too bad.

the info isnt in the camera, the lense tells the camera what is the largest aperture it can use.

zstan : Plus minus should be there, cause Japan Yen may rise/drop at that time. But the AF confirm chip + mount, I'm still looking for somewhere to buy it.

Saw it on Alphanatics RM89. Anyone know where to get all these besides Alphanatics? Abang cjlai got? biggrin.gif

bokeh's got quite irritating sharp edges... hmm, but for that price, i guess i can live with it.

Added on July 27, 2010, 3:24 pmcassplayer, UGPM on that matter wink.gif

The colours dont seem so nice at F2, maybe a little bit of editting can make it better.

How to spot the sharp bokeh edges?

its a subjective matter, for me, i look at the "bola-bola" bokeh.. non irritating ones would be quite smooth at the edges of the 'bola', without a suddenly brightness increase, the transition outwards will be smooth blends in well with the neighbouring 'bola'.

u have to understand the difference between shutter and aperture blades.. both controls the light, but in different manners. only the aperture blades determines the bokeh

nope. it depends on the aperture blades.

generally, the more blades the smoother the bokeh. correct me if i am wrong. laugh.gif

Imagine a 16 aperture blade lens. drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif 1 of the M42 lens has that.

not truth also imho.. if the shutter is fast more bokeh compare to long shutter..
