Good morning~!
Actually I had been following this thread for 1 year. Always reading but didn't comment anything because scare say wrong thing.

I would like to seek advice from experience people from here regarding the actual wedding day charges for a Malay wedding because i nvr shoot Malay wedding before, so far all my client is chinese and i guess the charges are different.

This Malay client is asking for 2 session of actual wedding day photoshoot. 1 is at bride's house, another day is at groom's house.

For chinese normally i charge nothing less than RM1500 for whole day with edit and develops.

For this Malay client they juz wants edited softcopy picture, I don't wanna spoil the market so would like to seek some advice here, thanks!!

good morning sifus, as u guys should know i am noob in hauls as i don't haul much. tongue.gif

just wanna clarify(i've asked about the same thing at canon thread as well), what's a grey set/lemon set?

does a local set means its manufactured locally and am imported set manufactured overseas(like japan for my tamron).is a local set better or imported set or grey set or lemon set better? rclxub.gif in terms of quality and pricing.

so when people say, local distributors won't help u service those grey sets/lemon sets, why is that so? hmm.gif

thanks! notworthy.gif

Goodmorning~it's a rainny morning here biggrin.gif

From my understanding, grey set=imported set which the traders bought it from oversea and sell here. As for local distributed set is sold by local AUTHORISED distributor, for example Futuromic is the local authorised distributor for Tamron lenses. Lemon set is neither greyset nor local set, lemon set means the bad copy biggrin.gif

I don't know whether the local distributor would help in servicing greysets or not, that's depends on the company policy or the contact with the authoriser company. Anyway, there are still some 3rd party servicing companies around biggrin.gif

Do correct me if I am wrong notworthy.gif

just like handphones lar~ ori Nokia sets from Zitron~ then u can send to local Nokia outlet for service or warranty for free~
where else AP set from 3rd party importers only free service or warranty from this importers~ you send them to Nokia outlets means u gotta pay~
same goes to cars~ grey imports BMW from Naza~ you only can warranty from Naza~ if u send it to local Auto Bavaria then you gotta pay~ tongue.gif

normally greyset is the same quality as the ori set since all of them are imported from the same source~
but the difference is how they handle the stock during shipping and after sales service~ thats what you paying more for the ori sets~
not sure bout lens but like AP handphones (grey set)~ you gotta becareful~ some dishonest seller selling you re-cond (recondition used set) AP units at the price of new units~
as for cars~ there are new and re-cond units as stated by reputable seller coz they have to declare the details at kastam to pay the AP taxes~

and of coz, ori or grey set~ there are still chances of you getting a lemon set (bad copy) in anything you buy~ there are no 100% flawless in manufacturing process~ tongue.gif

cassplayer: You mean the Jupiter-9 85mm F2.0 in M42 mount? That would really be around that price (or more like RM500).

bysquashy: Beats me, when the 135mm sells far more.

Yeah manual focus, mount can get in Malaysia ourselves with the AF confirm chip.

But is the AF confirm chip installed properly on the mount? Or use super glue + the finishing ugly?

According to my friend it costs around RM150. But it's an old & mint m42 lens.

Gotta wait for him to go down to Osaka again. laugh.gif

cassplayer: Ask your friend to get it anyway. Though I think you'll be disappointed when you see it's the Russian Jupiter-9 85mm F2.0, as your friend could have confused 1:2 with 1.2 (where 1:2 means F2.0).
