QUOTE(LJS @ Sep 12 2005, 02:18 PM) jeremy0 now u have ur car-puter?Do u think got other place to place the mainboard? Now i have no idea where to put the mainboard.Seem like Hilux lack of space. i just sold off mine already...going to get another model later (Xenarc CP-1000 hopefully) together with a touchscreen lcd..i plan to fit everything under the passenger seat/glove compartment... ljs..if ur using a/v, the res could be quite problematic...thought of this method previously but the quality of output is not satisfactory...better get a proper one with vga input...i got a 10m long vga cable alraeedy (custom) so thats not a problem if i mount the lcd in front and cpu under the seat. Coconut..im going to phuket tomorrow...see u there.hahaha...wanna drink lotsa pineapple juice and admire their vigo...there's this 3 litre vigo for rent at THB1500 per day...wonder if its worth renting

hi guys...there are so damn many vigos in thailand...and they have intercoolers some more......the fortuners are also nice..., found one shop selling vigo front bull bar but the price is around 50000 bht...abit on the high side but design quite nice....
i didn't manage to test out their hilux 3.0 coz petrol is freaking expensive...i ended up with a honda jazz dsl which could run quite far with just 7 litres of petrol....petrol price is on average 26.7 bht per litre! Some more price varies between stations

theres a malaysia dealer in sunway but the price is way expensive over here....canopy costs about rm4k here (2k plus overthere) when i enquired it...so the price difference does matter.
another thing, just fill ur hilux tank to the brim before crossing the border...diesel price is 2.50 something per litre over there last week...hope this helps in ur bull bar surveying...anyway do tell me where u fixed it when u get home

QUOTE(dchk @ Oct 31 2005, 09:25 PM) It is sad really. I am so interested in getting a Hilux, but the nighmare stories I keep hearing really makes me think twice. I remember the first time new Hilux came out, I went for test drive and the sales man told me the security system is similar to Camry, added with anti-tow. I wonder, why thieves don't go after Camry instead. Isn't it much more valuable. Come on, any one from Toyota, stand up and take note. Its the same scenario with the Old Storm, Ford ranger and etc...the problem is these cars fetch a higher resale value and easier to dispose @ the borders . Furthermore, the parts also fetch good price.

hmmm...what u could do currently is put a backup alarm(yes-2alarms) which runs on batteries in case power is cut...besides that u could add a fuel cut switch...or if u have the cash...put a gsm/gps car tracking system...
but be warn, if car thieves fail to get ur car...they might be frustrated and burn down ur car/ destroy it
