Though I enjoyed the episode... I can't help but feel how silly the plot was. Danny going mental because of some bells, she could could have easily gotten her victory and stormed the Red Keep. Waddepak... I don't read the books but this episode was so illogical. Cersei was just moping the entire episode.

NK ending was disappointing now this... Oh dear. Next week's series finale better not get your hopes too high.

This season clearly shows how little D&D knows how to move the show forward without the book material.

Major character deaths but they are all so underwhelming.

The ending does not need to be happy, it has to be satisfying.

nope this is not the ending.

we knew the true real leak ending  here it is also utterly disappointing.

keyword is Bran

Yea...yea... I know that one. That theory also weird. The north people keep to themselves. Someone once said that the Starks never do well when they go to Kings Landing. See what happened to Ned, his brother and his father? Why would Bran for that matter want to go there? Unless Varys wrote the scroll for Bran before he got incinerated and begged him to come, probably because Dany going crazy

Compared to The Long Night, I kinda 'enjoy' watching the visual in The Bells ... the horrors & terrors of wars. Good army became plundering bloodthirsty & rapist bad guys. Antagonist army is the one trying to get citizens to safety.

Ya, Arya was only placed there as a point of view from the ground, trying to escape to safety. They know we care for her, so every breath of dragon fire, every crumble of buildings, felt dangerously too close to Arya.

And all this carnage could've been avoided if only .... Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen kissed the about-to-go-mad queen much longer while pretending to really love her instead of fear only. He still knows nothing. happy.gif

visual is 10/10
dragon rampage, the mayhem and the epic Cleaganebowl at the stairs thumbup.gif

but plot is a shitty 1/10

stupid & cheap on how they written off The Spider
the way Cersei "died" also kinda cheap, but also makes the fans to speculate that she isn't dead yet as the Maggy the Frog prophecy wasn't fulfilled

and the very typical 80s cartoon plot, where the enemy was OP first, kicking good guys asses, then suddenly the enemy become a weakling and got their assess kicked by the "good" guys doh.gif

previous episodes you have hundreds of scorpion bolts flying, this time they only manage to shoot off a few? Euron is a seasoned seadog, and they wasn't expecting a surprised attack from above??? from a dragon which they've fought off before and they have special weapon against it? seriously???

Just read that the first spin-off went into filming, Jane Goldman is the show runner with GRRM involvement. Naomi Watts is the lead that chronicle 5,000 years before the current event. HBO ordered pilot but not green lit for series pick-up yet. It will be 2 years or so away easily. In addition, HBO also commissioned three other spin-offs by different writers and show runners.

Did enjoy majority of Goldman collaboration with Matthew Vaughn. Hopeful it may be worthwhile.

Plus points for...
- Thrilling us in each scene with Arya when she was trying to get out of Kings Landing, and breathing a sigh of relief when she mounted the white horse and rode it out.
- Cleganebowl finally happened after 8 seasons...
- Lots and lots of fire mixed with green flames all round to remind us of wildfire.
- Showing slaughter and carnage, blood and gore, the reminders of war and a woman gone crazy on a dragon...reminding us she's going (or gone) down the road of her mad dad.

The rest...well,
- Not understand why Tyrion sold out Varys...What did that achieved? A smart move would have been to keep Varys and sell him out only if Dany didn't go mad. I guess Tyrion ran out of eunuch jokes.
- Euron is narcissistic. He mounted plenty o' scorpions on his ships but fired just the one from his because the camera was zooming in on him. Also, good for showing off his flying into the water skills.
- Lesson learnt: Never hire the Golden Company. They couldn't tell you a dragon was flying their way because they never looked behind the walls.
- Take it from Thanos - You should have aimed for the head. I would have liked Sandor to have survived and he should have taken off Gregor's head instead.
- I felt Jaime and Cersei should have been given a better send-off after 8 seasons. Instead, they died by rubble (or did they? @maggy froggy).

Anyhow...I'm just b***hing here on some of the plot points I felt this episode could have done better. Since it was so disappointing (for me, perhaps not everyone else), I wouldn't be surprised if Arya was riding the white horse out of Kings Landing only for a hungry Drogon to swoop down and devour the horse with her on it. That would have been surprising!!

Many butthurt cos they're daenerys fanbois

The writing was on the wall, it was hinted many times over the past few seasons that daenerys could go down this path of madness, despite her assuring her closest allies that she's not like her father. The quest for the throne and her ambition costed her her sanity. All you need is one bad day to turn the sanest person alive to a lunatic, and she had to endure many bad days

Dany burning down the city after saying “mercy is our strength" doh.gif

Understand she has been driven by emotion and has taken rash decisions before... but wth, killing innocent women and children?

I think if GRRM completed the books, there would have been a tonne more drama/turn of events that led to Danny being this way... not just some bells triggering here.

I read that D&D mentioned she acted that way "spontaneously" sweat.gif

is it me or the writers cannot give Dany's character a proper closure.
seems like they rush and give her a big mental meltdown

not to mention the body count of most of the characters doh.gif

The thing is GRRM book has over a thousand pages to flesh out all the subtlety and intricacies. On film or tv is a totally different ballgame altogether. I do believe his book will be on similar trajectory path of the show but it's a 4 corner fight. Cersei vs NK vs Euron Greyjoy vs Daenerys. Euron is a totally different type of villain from the tv.

I have no issue with Danny turning but not cool with how it is being portrayed. Jamie and Tyrion is a betrayal of their former character arcs. Arya's plot armour is too ridiculous at this point.

Ultimately they need more episodes for more coherent character development. For all I know GRRM might beta testing his book ending in conjunction with the show.

ending, Jon or Arya kill Danny, Jon destroy the Iron Thrones and all main houses rule their Kingdom on their own. No more Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Jon to be in night watch or king's beyond the wall to protect the realms.
