QUOTE(shakz7 @ Aug 17 2010, 11:57 AM) Just find out few days ago my SG are actually joey's whom are only 4 weeks+.... now im very worried + Make sure you are feeding only ONE diet, either HPW or slurp. Do not mix feeding or rotate feeding different diet.No matter what i still have to accept the fact its my fault tho never check thru before purchasing.... They girl as usual eat's anything.. the boy is kind of week and selective eater... and they sleep most of the time.. even for meal have to wake them up and feed them by placing the HPW / Slurp at my finger then only the lick and eat. Is there any other way can make them eat... been having them for 1 week now and still dont see them eat much... I would strongly recommend you get a packet of Bugsy Wombaroo Milk Replacer from petshack, it's very good and higher digestability for underaged gldier or rejected joey. If you wan, you can syringe feed the milk every 2-3hours.. QUOTE(geo @ Aug 17 2010, 12:11 PM) Yes they can. |

QUOTE(shakz7 @ Aug 17 2010, 02:07 PM) No bro... i bought them to one of the SG sifoo's from the forum.... the very first glimpse and touch already say its 4weeks+ Is the glider ok with you? I mean is the glider feeling comfortable with u? Most of the underaged glider adapt to new owner pretty fast, as they will take the owner as their mom.. Eric, Thats the worrying part to syringe feed them every 2 - 3 hours... im travelling alot during working hours and worried if carry them around all the time will cause more stress to them... If the glider is feeling comfortable with you, i think carrying with you during work should be alright. But make sure ur workplace is not construction site where there are alot different smells and loud voices la... |

QUOTE(allenna @ Aug 23 2010, 11:30 AM) What I meant was........the sugar glider was born naturally looking like that......GENETICALLY different by it's colour...sometimes I found really hard to explain to people even the easiest explanation....I ONLY want to explain what I saw with my two eyes only. WELL....it's up to your own JUDGEMENTATIONS.........I have already explained the situation and have we ever wonder why they are different sizes or hair colours.....why there are big trees and small trees......look around us there's a lot of going on in our every day's life..sometimes we have the answer and sometimes we don't.....ONLY GOD KNOWS..!!! QUOTE(me>>ieLA @ Aug 23 2010, 11:38 AM) Okay, will accept ur opinion on this..Sifus out there, any other opinion?? Frankly, I don't really think the shah alam seller is a good breeder. I made this statement not because I'm sided on any party, but purely my own opinion. From the way he/she running his business and the information that he/she given to customers, he/she is just another money minded mass breeder for me.. tednet>> its k ya..just want to know more on this as i have never seen this kind of GENETICALLY different sg Jolene>> me too..i have search everywhere and never find any information about this kind of sg and am eager to find out more so that i can try to avoid anything that maybe factors towards this from happening.. No offense but this is what i feell... Normally people often throw the ques to God when they don't know the answer... who knows the black pigmentation of the glider nose is formed because of unethical and uncontrollable breeding or inbreeding? Mayb GOD knows.. QUOTE(kelvin_faye @ Aug 23 2010, 03:01 PM) Malaysian gliders sold at petshop from mass produced breeders r often inbreed line. So it is hard to trace their genetics. Let's plan a trip then...Actually, to confirm the blackish nose glider, why dont u all just go to the fella's place n have a look? QUOTE(myboo_1988 @ Aug 23 2010, 03:50 PM) WTF i didnt feed him with LIZARD...this lil sugar glider catch himself..i totally no idea...so one day i found out my house lizard all go missing..? QUOTE(piggyzai @ Aug 23 2010, 04:04 PM) LoL...dat is weird..whr u cage him? or jz let him roam inside ur room when free time....so geng can catch by himself wan...how u train him LoL..teach me leh... You didnt feed him with lizard, but you have the time to capture the photos of ur glider eating lizard? From your act, you are actually allowing your glider to eat the lizard.Again, an important point to stress on this - DO NOT feed or allow your glider to eat any wildcaught insects, as you dono they carry any bacteria/virus/poison... |

Even you are senior, even you keep gliders for 10 20years, when you did something wrong that means it's wrong... We are not trying to put the blame on you or either anyone here, we just point out the issue and remind others not to do it..If i were you, i would not hangat hangat go and grab a camera and capture the pic of my glider happily eating the lizard..instead, i will grab his favorite treats such as yogurt drop or mealworms and TRADE the lizard with him... |

QUOTE(shazman @ Aug 26 2010, 10:36 PM) hangat hangat means so excited lo... LOLQUOTE(chamyk2311 @ Aug 27 2010, 12:50 AM) Hey guys, i need some help here. My female glider was pregnant and the joey inside her pouch should be around 5-6 months, but something bad happen 1 week ago. Everytime i feed my gliders, i will check on their pouch to see the baby is ok. But 1 week ago, when i go see the female, the baby inside the pouch is gone. I was shocked and i tot the mom eat the baby.... than i decided to go check on the sleeping pouch to see if there were "left over"... When i looked inside.... OMG.... the baby is inside the sleeping pouch. The baby seems out of the pouch and was left inside the sleeping pouch. It is obviously immature baby. The body including tail is pink with no fur, the eyeball is big. The size not even as big as a peanut. That time i dunno what should i do, i just felt very sad and hopeless. The baby is still moving. I know that if the joey was detached from the mother nipples, it is hopeless for the baby to reattached back... some more this baby is immature and the jaw still seal. So i just put back to Sleeping pouch back into the cage with the immature joey inside.... to just hoping the mom will so "save" her baby.... After 2 days, i checked on the sleeping pouch again, the baby is still there and still moving too. I was like... speechless. den i leave it there again.... after 1 week, when i go feed my gliders again, I saw the mommy come out from the sleeping pouch and i was amazed. I saw the baby's head is sticking in the mom's pouch (looks like nursing), while the body is outside and not inside the pouch. And the baby was grabbing her mom tightly. I was like.... WOW..... It looks so weird, I tot the baby couldn't survive after so long. I don't wan to move the baby cuz i scare something bad happen. ....Wanna ask forumer here that what can i do after all this? I am thinking that i might just leave it like that....... hope any experts here can give me some advice. I'm a first timer. Erm.. joey inside the pouch around 5-6months? or 5-6weeks? From what you describe, it seem like the joeys are out of pouch already, and they were in the pouch bbecause the mom went out to hunt for food.. When joeys are out of pouch, their tail are furless and eyes unopened... after 1-2weeks OOP then they will open their eyes and start develop their body and grow bigger.. And yea, even they are OOP already, they will still nursing on mother's milk for bout 1month.. so kinda normal to see them stick their head inside the pouch while body cling outside.. Jus make sure u provide sufficient nutrient and keep the stress level minimal... |

QUOTE(allenna @ Sep 4 2010, 02:56 PM) Hi guys...I just bought an instant HPW( a well know product...B***y)) from a well known pet shop....when I open the packet the ingredient looks very odd...not like before..this packet/product is from Australia not from USA..and it's looks like the ingredient yellowish and like mold like powder...Is that normal..???? I'm afraid to give it to my gliders.... I have been using Bugsy Instant HPW for long period, so far never encounter any problem before. You mind to show us any photo of it? And yes, it's from Australia.Added on September 4, 2010, 10:06 pmOh yea, fyi, it's memang yellowish color. QUOTE(Snowguy2068 @ Sep 4 2010, 11:24 PM) can i give this stuff to my future glider? Bugsy HPW would be the main daily protein source for gliders... Bugsyâ„¢ Happy Glider - Chicken Protein provides protein as well, but this is an extra staple food that you can feed them when you are away for 1-2 days, or jus leave the food inside the cage during daytime. No harm if you give variety. Bugsyâ„¢ Happy Glider - Chicken Protein is it good? or is hpw better? and when they say cook the egg it means like how? thanks QUOTE(Snowguy2068 @ Sep 4 2010, 11:58 PM) hard boil is okay? The eggs in HPW diet can be scramble or hardboil. Choose either way that you feel convenient. Some people dono how to make scramble egg, then they jus go for hardboil.or the petshack website says scramble? or how really confused bout the egg part and i've been looking through SG's info for the pass week like very day so do not think im just asking around I've read the first page so many times and other webs i got through google. Note that, do not use any oil/salt/sugar/butter when cooking the eggs. QUOTE(allenna @ Sep 5 2010, 02:09 AM) Hi Eric...I know it is yellowish but this yellowish really bright yellowish.. macam a bit basah and moldy...macam berkulat la..tak macam biasa keadaannya....that's why I just want to know is it normal ...sorry I have tried to download the picture but failed.....that is why I asked because I don't want all of my sugies nanti sakit perut pulak...stomachache....a big..big problem.... If this is the case, then you can discard the packet then get another one..since you are not certain and not able to show us the picture... The wombaroo protein powder is kinda bright yellow color for me... and when you mentioned it looks like mold, could it be the bee pollen? It is like small small tiny chunks... |

Actually if u use normal pad lock, it doesnt really work effectively because they still can lift up the cage door a little... Cable tie is better because it really tight it up closely...

QUOTE(sugardaddy @ Sep 18 2010, 08:57 PM) hello guys,, i'm new here n still gaining information about this cute lil suggie. is it really for me o not. i think, better do my research 1st before i adopt 1. You do need Water Bottle, Sleeping Pouch, Water Bowl, Wodent Wheel (I think this is a must since 3ft is kinda small actually), perhaps some toys so they wont get bored..to feed'em its ok for me since i seldom eat fruit, maybe after adopting sugie, n sugie does eat fruit everyday it can motivated me to be healthy too (buy fruit lebih i can tumpang makan jgk)..hehe to bond wit'em also ok la kot, my work is field-work based so to bad i cant carry any suggie into my pocket...coz d environment not suitable la. but at night (6pm onwards) i got plenty of time to hang out wit'em...for 3-6hours straight no problem at all. ok first thing i wanna ask, about cage...3ft cage is ok already rite, so what do we really need to have in dat cage? dat most important? other than water bottle n food bowl. 2nd thing..how about temperature in a room where i kept d cage...since in malaysia is well known hot country.. is it ok kept 'em in 34degree celcius or greater n minimum of ventilation? i hope any well expirienced sugie owners can help me out about my adopting suggie matters.. tq in advance hehe 34degree celcius seem abit High for me...but they should be fine with it, as long as u make sure the ventilation is good... |

My house fans are on 24/7 for them... lol.. u know la, nowadays the weather is terrible.. I think the shop that you mentioned is PetShack. The shop is just opposite Sunway Pyramid, a place called Mentari Business Park. U know there is one McDonalds along the road? Jus behind the McD.. Or you know the very famous Yuen Steamboat? Just behind Yuen too.. Anyway, u can jus go to their website and see the map over there.. |

QUOTE(veryniub @ Oct 7 2010, 11:34 AM) jz wondering, if we r feeding HPW (instant for my case) daily, is it still necessary to provide boiled chicken or boiled eggs in order to provide the sg a more complete protein profile? For cherry tomato, i still remove the seeds everytime i feed.. As kelvin mentioned, extra protein source is nt neccesary if u r using hpw. However, on and off u can still feed boiled chicken or eggs as treats. No harm as long as the amount is nt too much..n previously hun mentioned in V5 that for cherry tomatoes the seed have to be scooped out, so for now is it stil the same bout the seed removal? |
