Is tripod a must for sharp pics? Or does everything count eg exposure, equip, weather??

Must? Not at all. Tripod is not a must.

a good aperture is a must for sharp pics

equip, lens might affect sharpness but if you don't pixel peep most lens will do the job, just that some better lenses will do the job even better.
Exposure and weather not really, during a bright day you don't really need tripod.

Hmmm, must be me and my shaky hands.......normally couldn't get satisfactory sharpness when i shoot indoors when i go f8 and above...haha

Which mode you're using? If A/P mode, in indoor you use F/8 the camera will use a very slow shutter, so your hand cannot compensate for the slow speed and eventually will result in blurry photos. Indoor f/8.0 need flash or pump ISO in order to get reasonable shutter speed, no other way =D

Wah, I never tried f/8 indoor before haha... Gonna be real slow shutter, in that case tripod helps!

Tripod I'm using is no good  I use a cheap Victory brand tripod only

Haha, my tripod even cheaper, i'm using tables and chairs or walls or what it is that can stabilize the dslr!

Ya, thought of getting the digieye tr38 also......cheap and should be stable from the looks of it  ....no money lah, saving up for my 55-200mm

wow a lot ar d price different..but, 50mm f.18D can be used on D5000 rite? but won't autofocus izit..but, still can manually focus..izit hard to actually manual focus, if not, then ok what to pair 50mm f1.8D with D5000 ..

TR-38 user here also, starting to get annoyed at the darn tripod.. lol. got a bit of strong wind then not stable enough d haha. but for general use like taking own photos and set timer/remote, it's ok.

- u cant take C&C. (pls try photomalaysia & do see what comments u will get)

- stop being hardware oriented. heck, by all means, just buy whatever ur wallet can get. but if u cant apply the technics & arts, might as well flush ur gadget down the toilet bowl. & pls bear in mind that its not bout quality of equipment but its always bout quality of a person.

to be honest, im not a pro. i just got my dslr few months back. im here cos i wanna learn. in order to learn i understand that i must hv d important core values eg HUMBLE. i think u hv attitude problem or worst case, untreated bipolar disorder. sorry for my harsh words but i think u deserved it. yep, i give u that.

well, he's right though, ongdandy's still young and he needs to learn about things in life like this, how to talk to other ppl and treat other ppl the way he'd want other ppl to treat him. it's also about manners, if you can't get your manners right, you won't go anywhere in the future.

hei sorry man.. i m not young anymore..i post my picture here to give some comment/ teach me what i can do to get a better picture. then i try to take again. is not like zelleonheart comments that make me no confident to take picture. if you say my picture too blur, too high iso, too noisy, etc etc.. then you just tell/teach me what i can do to get a better picture..YES i' m still new to it..still learning on how to use manual mode. YES i have a bit of attitude problem and i' m trying to learn how to be humble with everyone.
