If you really encountered this problem, why not you try to use usb cable to transfer your movie file.. If the USB cable still won't work, then the movie file is corrupted.

bb, about file move/copy/delete... need to follow up on this one...

i upgraded my pohd and mini to r3966 this morning. got 2 questions need yr help.

1. at the file manager page, the instruction show was "press menu & confirm" for more options.
I tried every combination, incl pressing just "confirm" but got nothing. can you explain step by step how to move/copy/delete files? in the mini2, the instruction was "press menu & edit". this one, I had not tried yet.
pohd has no edit button, so I guess "confirm" is to be used? but can't get it to work.

2. for photos, the previous firmware had settings under video or system to set continuous play for all files in a folder, set time for each pic, and kenburn transition effects. r3966 does not seem to have this. can't get it to play continuous, must press arrow right for each next pic? no transition effects too.

so far, these are the two issues i have. thanks in advance for help.
the new gui is pleasant looking, speed about the same as before.
no asking me to format hdd!

glad to hear that no reformatting required and no lagging also. did you use the safe-mode update or the normal one ?

bb, i have since found out how to set the photo transition/slides. first need to play one pic, then press menu to get the options.

i tried again to find the file move/copy/delete menu, still failed.... help!!

i played around with with both the pohd and mini after installing r3966... seems the mini is much slower than pohd when using the new interface. i tried switching off the autoscan but seems not much help. compared to r4824, this r3966 is definitley slower. as i'm only a basic user of movies-music-photos, i'm not sure where r3966 is superior to r4824 except for a nicer display!

r3966 should work very well with pohd2 and mini2 since they have newer and better chipset.

if fw 3966 is merely comestic than I will probably not update. so far fw 4824 is doing fine for me in terms of playing movie files flawlessly from the internal hdd.

strange.

just install the new GUI 2.0.

- hidden ssid cannot use.
- my notebook cannot see the POHD HDD (before 4824 everything was ok.)

- bit slow when browsing the new gui.

after reading the two threads in acryan forum and toying for another couple of hours on pohd1 and mini1...

. speed can be improved if you turn off autoscan and turn on clear history. this will mean disabling the movies-music-photos options on the main menu, so can only use file manager which is equivalent to the old "browser". this autoscan feature, i think is good for a built in hdd since after scanning, it does not scan anymore and speed not affected; usb attached hdds are scanned each time you plug in (i think), slowing the speed.
. pressing setup button sometimes reset/restart the player, seems this is a bug.
. substitles come on by default; font size-color-position by default; can turn off or change file by file only, no universal setting like before.
. screen saver (a little cartoonish!) does not work on the main page, works only when you're at least one level down
. when you power off with the remote, the power button goes totally black before it becomes red (standby) while the tv screen stays on for a few seconds before it goes off.

at this stage, i'll say r3966 is ok and has a nicer menu but is really no better than r4824.

and i still haven't figured out how to move/copy/delete! cry.gif

copying srt files via usb to hdd at the player did not work with r4824, so no surprise with r3966. you have to copy direct from pc to hdd.

two things i find better with r3966:
. playing flac files now is smoother than r4824.
. i used to have a strange problem with tv going off when i connect via lcpm to avr (old one w/digital coaxial, no hdmi); seems this has been eliminated, good!

guys, if you find it slow to navigate, just turn off auto scan and turn on clear history.

how did you tried to copy srt file from usb with r3966? where is the copy function?

in older versions, you can delete old folder, copy the whole new folder with srt file inside, it'll work.
