r2115 is a beta.
about 10 pages back, some installed it and reported it as having bugs.
thanks to that, i never upgraded, still waiting for final version.

My Playon!HD Mini 2 is also flashed to the latest firmware (v9.5.5.r2988) and so far no issues. Are you on the same firmware version as well?

That's weird because so far I am not experiencing any issues with this firmware version, I'm starting to wonder if it's any issue with TV incompatibilities or something similar since you are now the second case reported to have that side black bars. hmm.gif

yeah... could be tv compatibility... i haf no problem playing BD player... display are all great.... i can still live with the side bars.... no biggies...

on another issue.... recent update enables us to play AVCHD iso files with POHD mini2... but only thru manual selection movies. It appears as 'no video file' if selection made thru YAMJ... anyone with the same problem? and solution to it?? many thanx...

If for media files, which is not so important for NAS, Hitachi or Samsung is good. But for crucial data, WD RE4 or Black is highly recomended, of course, price is about 30% to 50% higher.

Another option is WD AV-GP. Slightly more expensive than Caviar Green but with same green power technology and reliable for AV usage as well.

Lag issues when streaming are usually caused by a network limitation. Although your wireless is rated 300mbps, it does not mean it will achieve the full speed plus wireless connectivity somehow can be unstable at times when there are interferences and so on. Also, your media file is also another factor, some HD files have a higher bit rate for video/audio thus demanding more out of your network, usually these files will require a gigabit connection to stream smoothly.

First you need to determine if it's a network problem or not, can you try connecting a thumbdrive or external hard disk to the USB port and play from there. If it still lags, you might want to consult the dealer/retailer you bought from and see if a warranty claim is needed or not.

Can anybody help me. I updated with this (Firmware: V7.4.3 r2115), once I updated, the picture have 2 black bar on the left hand side and right hand side, as you can see in my attachment. Before I do any update, it was okay, no black bar on the left side and right side. I checked again, e'ry setting is correct, picture format is all 16:9.....

Firmware problem right?????

Try to set the "Video Zoom" option to "OFF" in "Setup -> Video option - > Video Zoom" (if i remember the path correctly). I have the same problem last night after I test my repaired unit (which already upgraded to R2115 after i bring it back home, previously before repair I'm using an older version of the firmware).

I cannot resolve it even with "Zoom" option until I set the "Video Zoom" to "Off". Give this a try, hope it will solve your problem icon_rolleyes.gif !!

I'm going to test out the new firmware R3966 since R2115 look way too slow to operate... hope everything is as smooth as old firmware...

Good luck !

AC Ryan just released their factory firmware. Will download soon. R2115 is Beta firmware, very useless.
