now almost two weeks using new gui2.0 firmware for my dvrhd... everything works fine... im using CRT TV and media content like youtube, youtube xl & video podcast display like watching astro... (depend on content)

facebook display same as PC... not mobile web... but using CRT... some of font cannot be read...

If can, buy HDTV more suitable ..

My Playon!hd mini recently not able to output DTS and also not able to connect to wired network anymore...is it possible to get it repaired ?...
I think must have been struck by lightning...

updated my acryan hd to the new office gui 2.0 firmware. much better than the beta but it is still sluggish.

anyone got any tips to improve this?

especially the home menu where it is always waiting to load recently added music & movies which is really irritating. is there anyway to disable the recently added list on the home menu or resolve this?

also previously it in gui 1.0 it's easy to scroll through long list of movies where you tap right to pop out the alphabet quick jump - where is this in gui 2.0?

if u r using the acryan pohd version, u can try use the ASUS wifi dongle (the small wireless-N). It is compatible with acryan pohd as I've been using it for quite some time.

Anyone know which dual band USB wifi dongle compatible with PlayOn Mini 1 ? Plan to use 5Gz wifi. thanks


I got Acryan's wifi dongle. Bought last pc fair and will let go once i found compatible dualband doogle.

mentioned a couple of times already - go to setup, turn off scanning, turn on clear history.
with that, u will use only files manager which is more or less the same as the old "browser".

Plan to get a 2nd set... what is the price for the PlayOn mini now?

The model is Asus USB N-10, other models will not work. Nevertheless, if can, just buy the ACRyan dongle lah...solve the problem and doubt.

i have tried switching off the scanning but i am ok with that becos even with it on, the scanning only comes on when we switch on the machine rite? after that it should not be scanning every time i return to home menu. i will try the clear history. thanks for the heads up.

i have a hd install and is using the library mode which i prefer to browser only.

Its possible for the signal strength and receiving to be better if you change the transmit channel at the wireless router. Try manual one by one 1-12 and see which works best.
If all fails, either you relocate your router or go cable. Then again, streaming performance all depend on your internet speed, if still on 1MB Screamyx...I won't say more lor!

m using the wireless dongle and through wireless all my avi files cannot be played..if its direct from hdd it is ok...any issues peeps?

not sure but i think it scans the built in hdd once and that's it unless you have put in new files. for usb drives, it seems to scan it everytime you plug out and plug back in - which I do quite often.
