That's why it's always best to keep the firmware updated. You now have a longer sequence but don't worry, it'll be worth it in the end. biggrin.gif

enjoy! i'm been running it for 1.5yrs now, love every minute of it.
last 2 days, had 4hr37min of Red Cilff. Even in just 720p and DTS, it's such a blast.

If you checked the release dates on POHD's website, r3582 is newer than r3875. smile.gif

r3582 - Firmware v7.3.3.r3582
r3875 - Firmware v7.06.r3875

Haha I celebrated too early.
Today actually my mini2 crashes a few times whicle watching photos. Initially i dont plan to upate the firmware since there were so many complains here. But cannot tahan already and just updated the latest ROM. Hope it resolve the issues.
Other than the crashes that pisses me off, it's a great player interms of build quality, video and audio quality. I had it hook up to my DTS amp, 42in Plasma, and 1 Tb HDD.

update: just flash with new ROM. Works fine with no more crashing so far. Loving it....

hi box builder I have another question. can I use my current internal hdd which was formatted using POHD 1 (during that time was fw 3582) in POHD 2 ? will POHD 2 require that internal HDD to be formatted again due to new GUI 2.0 / firmware ?

Cannot my friend, bcoz both using different chipset. I know u will vmad.gif but no choice bcoz of chipset. So, pls copy out all your contents and format the hard disk using HD2 and than copy back all the contents using USB3.0. But better buy new HDD to format by HD2 and previous one use as external. tongue.gif

1. This is Sigma chipset?
2. Where can I buy this?
3. Is the firmware frequently updated?
4. How much is it?

Thanks

Well, I can say that A.C. Ryan is a bang for bucks player if you're not looking for something higher-end like the Dune players. A.C. Ryan still does its job as a HD media player very well.

1) For Playon!HD players, it's based on the Realtek 1185DD+ Chipset.
2) At authorized dealers. You can contact BoxBuilder for a list of dealers near you.
3) Can say that the firmware is up-to-date with relevant major fixes and improvements.
4) Playon!HD 2 is RM599 while the Playon!HD Mini 2 is RM499.

I wonder why no people interested on Sigma chipset... it is because it does not support RMVB?

Well, that's one of the main reason as far as I know since a lot of the users would like to watch their MKV movies and also dramas which are quite common in RMVB format thus settling for a Realtek chipset player is pretty normal.

One of an issue on Realtek compare to Sigma is the Audio and Video do not sync properly.... Wondering if this issue will happen on this HD2 or not...

So far my A.C. Ryan player does not have this issue. Probably those who experience those problems are related to the file they are playing instead. hmm.gif

So far I didn't face the issues with my HiMedia HD200A and Eaget M9 which's R1055DD+ and R1283DD+ based chipset. So, I guess the sync problem is more the problem during the conversion.

I know I'm mentioning it on A.CRyan thread but I guess it should be alright as A.C.Ryan is having a good support, which should be able to clear your doubts on the realtek chipset based media player.
