I have the same problem too, but I checked the internet and some say phone from manufactured in different region may have different release time for the new update. Anyway I tried paste my product code to Nokia support site here, it says my version 051.018 is up to date and no update required, so I guess I'll just wait.

thinking of changing to android. i ask the seller, able to exchange my 11 month old E72 for Samsung Galaxy 5 at no extra cost. is it a good idea?

hi guys, my fren using e72 which i recently bought 2nd from forumer
after i updated to latest firmware, about 2-3 week, the phone always hang about 1-3times a week

the phone will light it keyboard, the screen show nothing, on/off button didnt work, only need to take out the battery to restart it.

can any1 here help me solve this problem? the phone just 2-3 week from updated latest firmware..

after i didnt use the email function on the phone , now i wanted to use it back

But the problem i faced is , It wont add any new mailbox anyway, after i input my email and password, it will just return to the "choose mailbox" menu.

Anyone encountered this before? Any solution or suggestion?

Added on March 8, 2011, 3:23 pmvery werid, i managed to create a mailbox of my Company email for my e72, but when i try to do it for my Gmail/Hotmail. It just stucked at the Email setting wizard.

Hi people, I got a problem with my E72 and see if you guys got any solution to my problem.

I'm a Outlook calendar user and I always sync my phone with outlook. But recently due to changes in my company IT policy, the outlook application data file are to be kept in the server thus I cant sync with Ovi (uncle google gave me the reasoning). So I wonder if there is any alternative as I really need to sync my calendar into my phone or vice versa.

P/S: I'm looking into alternative by using Google Calendar and studying how the sync can be done, anyone has experience on this ??

hi all, jus bought the ori black E72 2 days ago, TS, pls add me in the list, thx.

a lil bit of my humble opinions in 2 days.

Build Qualty is far below my expectations as the metal back cover got apparent gap with the device though its not loose, right soft key got obvious sound pressing it. >.<|| build quality is not as solid as my old phone SE K810 imho. anyhow, qwerty keypad is good to use.
*i didnt check properly when i bought it coz i m too excited as i searched a few days in many places(ipoh)for black color then i booked n deposited this 1 day earlier.

a bit dissapointed with the overall performace of the phone, some ofthe down sides.
- Picture/video view is slow though there are only a few items in my gallery.
- No stop watch/count down timer(though i hv dowloaded them via ovi store)
- no battery status of the phone, i mean the showing of percentage like SE phone does, but ofcoz, again it can be download n install via ovi.
- quite a low audio volume for incoming call/sms, music player.
- overall not as user friendly as SE mayb due to im still not familiar with nokia?previously from SE K810/K750.

anyway there are some goodies in E72 as,
- battery is long lasting.
- decent camera output.
- cool looking of the device.
- nice internet browser, i mean in term of qvga resolution with small screen and non touch.

tbh, a lil bit regret choose this to replace my old phone instead of galaxy ace with the almost same budget.

QuestionS,
1. how to set password for keypad lock instead of just pressing right then left soft key?and to lock some files, folders, sms? (SETTLED)
2. anyway to shut the light and sound off using the camera?
3. any nice site to intro?for e72 stuffs and apps, currenlt looking for chinse to eng dictionary.
4. any tips using the GPS?not try n study it yet but realy feel confuse..
5. n oh ya, wadahek is the voice mailbox at the bottom right of the homescreen?i hide it, how i make it appear again, if i wan.. (SETTLED)
6. lastly, wadahek is the icon which look like a msg/envelop in the middle bottom at the homescreen as shown in the attached pic.

all the sifus help are much much appreciated.

2. Switch on the camera, press "right" on your direction pad and scroll down to the camera light option. There you have the options to choose auto or switch it off.

Despite your many questions, I'm surprise you did not disappointed with E72's manual. I feel cheated on the manual to be frank as the manual is utterly useless as it failed to serve as a reference on the phone overview especially on the icons explanation. Thank god there is Google and the helpful Nokia community. Just get ready to Google alot on your many confuse on this phone like I first got it on hand.


Get into your browser, go to option, and choose to clear privacy option. If still cannot, check if you have any open apps via the "Show open apps" option and close any unused application.
