It's the process of creating the whole block, not just coating.

QUOTE(alexei @ Aug 17 2010, 04:04 PM)

welcome SangTupperware. First, what's wrong with the default jet settings?

PJ and MJ mean for different throttle range, if u know what I mean.
Both jets will affect the spark plug reading.

Adjust PJ because it affects pickup at low throttle range. 1/8-1/4 throttle. If you ride more using this setting, then you will see plug color change if you change PJ.

Adjust MJ affects top speed and full throttle acceleration. MJ affect only useful when full throttle and engine RPM reach high, because carb intake speed need to be high to pull petrol out through MJ.

My suggestion, adjust PJ first, then slowly move up to jet needle clip, then only MJ.
there's nothing wrong with my default settings. its so smooth and i like it. the pickup is so good for a stock bike where i can pull up to 60kmh on gear 2 and 120kmh on gear 3 and later on top speed at 140kmh on flat road and 150kmh - 160kmh ( this one rarely but achievable) when downhill. and i rarely use 1/8 -1/4 throttle on my journey to work, 3/4-4/4 is my favourite..120km per day to and fro.

my problem actually is my lust for top speed drool.gif and the true ability for LC135 without any cut off that the government have enforced. therefore my goal is to achieve at least 150kmh and max 160kmh on flat road but not compromising the sprocket settings (stock) & engine settings (stock). the only thing that i wanted to change is the carburator settings and CDI to at least BRT dualband. as for now i only put stromberg powerbooster cable plug and that is why i can get 150kmh downhill..before that..the top speed will still be dead at 140kmh.

is what im telling u now enough to atleast achieve 150kmh on flat road?. about the jet needle clip setting..how to make that?..could u pls explain this to me? ive learnt that racing CDI will give more spark thus carburator need to be tuned accordingly to give better result?..pls comment on this tq..

I am not an expert, and not an owner of LC bike. I simply love this forum, and like to hang out here.
Real pro here is Charge&Go. See I put up his recipe in my siggy.

My two cents, would you consider this list? Mod your intake, exhaust and slightly on the gearing.
- carburator
- air filter
- exhaust
- reduced rear sprocket by 2 gear

For settings below, engine must be warmed up.
1. Use a high flow air filter, new CDI, better plug.
2. Change to a bigger exhaust pipe (not too big, just bigger).
3. To get the PJ right, 1st try to set PJ (air screw) to see if you can still get a good idling. If cannot get good idling when air screw is out 3 turns, change to 1 size up, 22.5. Set air screw again and get a steady idling.
4. Then, you need to test ride the bike around with 1/4 throttle. Ride until the bike reach top speed at 1/4 throttle for half a minute or so, and then cut engine, press clutch and stop the bike. Read the plug.
- When cut engine, must hold clutch so to have minimal air flow going through engine.
5. For clip setting, you need to find out how to dismantle a carb to get the jet needle. For LC, I believe there are 3 clip position. With the needle pointing down, the top clip position will make 1//4-3/4 throttle leaner, and the bottom clip position will make it richer. Get it?
6. To get the ideal clip position, follow step 4, but hold throttle at 1/2-3/4 open.
7. The mainjet is for full throttle. Before you change, follow step 4, but use full throttle.
8. Additional step to know if the MJ is good for you, is to get the best time to accelerate at 4th gear, from 90-130kmh... Do this with a variety of MJ sizes and use the one that gives you the best acceleration. smile.gif

Disclaimer:
- I believe this is as 'stock' mod as you can get.
- The method above is only to tune the bike based on the new setting that you have.
- If it is done right, you will be sure to have increased performance while maintaining good FC.

at first i realy dont like 2 stroke bike at all cuz of the sound of it, then thats when i ride on alex's ride, it was really different, hard to explain but i really like the 'vteq' on it hahaha. also stock tzm is faster than my bike mah, and that bike has a lot of potential with minor upgrades only, plus im tired of being targeted by men in black @ roadblock, rempits, etc. also more reason to wear full face helmet hehe.

small cc 2-stroke bikes are less prone to under-powered scenario, so you get linear acceleration along the throttle range. Something that need getting used to, as they don't have the 'jump forward' feeling when open throttle like the 4T bikes. You feel the pickup when you open throttle from 1/2 to 3/4 to full at 6k RPM... so much fun.

I believe, any self respect law enforcement personnel will not give a stock condition classic much problem.
I get positive comments when passing roadblocks for my TZM. smile.gif

yes, reality is 2T bikes like this only comes as 2nd hand. some minor problems will sure pop up here there... need some care to start with.
Unless you get a new KIPS, ~RM9k.

comparing the compression ratio, you know the difference for maintenance liao. I posted last time on this.
Aprilia engine need major service including replacement every 20,000 km. TZM 'should' get this kind of treatment, but it's not necessary.

I would suggest keep a moped with you, using TZM as daily ride is kinda hard to begin with... we'll talk more when we meet.
I'll bring my KIPS friends along. Ok?
