It could be digitizer, charge controlling IC, sweaty palms, wet screen, dirty screen and any combination of these and more.

LOL, so many possible reasons arr, seem like it is a major problem if it hit the milestone.
So i think replacing the digitalizer is not the recommended solution since it may cost a lot.
Better get a better phone.
Anyway thanks for your prompt reply, appreciate it!! smile.gif

300??? Wah so expensive, change phone better.
Original digitalizer izit? or OEM? I search in ebay oem cost around < 100
Then change ourself can save labor cost provided know how to change.
Yes i'm aware of charger or usb cable may be the issue.
it will gone worst using different brand.

Even the original charger has problems.

Personally I won't bother changing.

Better phones can be bought for less hassle. The milestone, even though is good for using as a GPS device is getting a bit old technology wise.

You just got the phone ar? And yes I know who is Mr. Lai, bought from him before also.

If not mistaken your problem related to hardware started to failing. And yeah, repairing it almost the same price as buying another set.

Lucky you, able to sell the phone. What phone are you planing to buy? My recommendation would be to have 1 gigahertz phone at least. RAM should have at least 512 megabytes.

From SG can be Original as well,
For e.g. those from Starhub.
As for the common issues, i personally think it is the Ghost Screen.
You may search through the web for more information or read through the previous replies from me or others forumer.
Hope it help. smile.gif

It depend, i would not say it is not possible.
But it is not applicable to me, as my situation mostly is due to hardware failure.
As i'm aware it the digitalizer faulty only.
perhap others long term Milestone's user can help you smile.gif.

Its not, i use the original charger also has this problem.

So how does that constitute 'incompatible charger'?

most likely won't, I am on CM7.2 now, still got the issue.

Added on March 14, 2012, 5:23 pmAlso, recently these few days raining heavily all day.
My screen is acting all funky without it being plugged in.

The corners are especially non-sensitive and when pressed they register a touch about 5mm above where I am touching.

Sian really. Now I only use it for gtalk and waze.

incompatible charger such as when i use Samsung or Sony Ericsson charger.

but there also some member having problem eventho using ori charger, guess that one really means the digitizer is failing.

Found a workaround. It seems that unless we're in the US region we are not able to see Gmail and other google apps in the Market. (Seriously Google?)

I used the gapps file (for CM7) from the Cyanogenmod Page.

http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip

Then look for Market Enabler, change your region to T-Mobile, look and download google apps, revert back to default carrier settings.

The reason to use this and not the one in the CM7 for Milestone page is because this is using an older version of Market. Market Enabler is not compatible with the newer Market.
*
hi.

I interested to install gapps above but currently my milestone already had one. Do i need to uninstall/remove/delete the current gapps before applying another gaaps? because mine is quite different. when i apply update gapps, the only app install is Market, then automatically changed name to Play Store. There is no Market Enabler.

Anyone can assist? thanks.

Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix?
The past few days the phone was acting up..As if a ghost was thumbing thru the phone????!!!!
It's like an invisible person is playing with the functions and touch screen......
I swipe the lock off and the phone just goes off on it's own,I can't control the thing......
Dialing numbers,browsing the web,enters my settings,changing settings....
CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went as far as to do a master reset of the phone and it still continues. On and on.....
Every so often, and not so often I can regain control, but it just goes back to phantom mode.
When I reset it I took the sd card out as well and restarted without the card in and got the same results............GHOSTS......PHANTOMS.
I'm ready to throw the phone at the wall.....
Has this happened to anyone??????
Can it be fixed???
