ok thks

I faced some problem of stucked at android booting logo, end up i re flash to stock rom 2.1 back. Now i reapply the vulnerable sbf and G.O.T openrecovery 2.01. I did backup of my stock rom first before doing anything. After that, i rooted it. So far no problem.

Now the questions:
1. Can i test the backup whether it is working fine?
2. The correct step to wipe and install custom rom. The guide i read out there especially the xdadevs is still hard for a noob like me lol.
3. Where is the backup of rom located? I wanted to save the backup rom to my computer
4. Can i directly flash to cronos gingerbread rom from stock 2.1 and how to flash it properly. It is the flashing process same for every custom roms?

Thanks and sorry if i asked too much lol. Hope u guys can help me. thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

anyone can help answer? hmm.gif

I've been too busy enjoying the phone and missed it ?!?!

Hey, the Update manager says product not supported. I remember using this to update to 2.1

Next trying via http://192.168.16.2:8080 which at least opens to give a choice for UK 2.2, downloading.

Dunno why, I had to re-install Moto SW Update and re-register.

Whole thing took a long while but OK DONE, 2.2.1 !

I must be the last one in the neighbourhood to do this. blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif When was this first available?

OIC, I was traveling a lot then. Yup AP.

It is now working fine without reset. Is it necessary, won't it wipe out all apps and stored data?

'
Ok now turn off your phone again. Now press camera button and then press the power button. Hold then both until you see the recovery screen (takes about 6-7 seconds). It will be small phone symbol with ! logo on top.
'

I can't get this to work keeps booting up android instead.

edit:

FIXED BY pressing 'x' + power button instead.

After getting the 2.2 and moving everything to SD, now home screens a bit laggy or even hang a while. Is there something I shouldn't have moved to SD? Or have I just loaded too many apps into the phone?

i try as per my understanding

1-yes. you can try anytime nandroid restore and you will get same like before flashing any ROM
2- a)boot into recovery.
b)wipe dalvik , wipe cache, factory reset(if change different type of ROM)
c)update ROM / restore nandroid
d)reboot
3-/sdcard/nandroid/openrecovery/OR**/.md5 and .img. -> just copy this folder to PC
4-i can jump from any ROM to any ROM without problem even ginger to froyo and vice versa. i use Androidiani OpenRecovery.
