Added on July 1, 2010, 4:26 pmit actually depends on where you focus lock. If your focusing dot is placed at the bg, of coz the subject will be oof. Its either that or you triggered the shutter too fast even before the camera manage to lock focus

regret bought A550, bcos A700 grip so nice

kevinwcw: Close up filters give more magnification with longer focal lengths.

The close up filters I have just happen to be 55mm - they can be any size, but the bigger ones cost more obviously. The Cokin filters are independent of filter size but I do have a 77mm Cokin adapter hence I am able to use it with my Zeiss 135mm F1.8.

Gouki: Yes diffusers for the 580EXII fit the F58 perfectly.

with sigma 28F1.8, my camera looks ganas LOL

and yep, i use the no brand diffuser of 580ex on my f58 too

if it carries the 7 digit, then i think the grip will have full functions.. if not also they will use back the A700's grip..

use local AF. select the points u want to focus.

Shooting portraits, i use mostly local AF.
At widest aperture, using spot-AF and recompose is dangerous for me.. suddenly ear sharp, face not sharp =__="

so far my tammy 17-50 do not have prob..
but for portraits i tend to like primes moar for the bokeh

i think depends on what effect you want. images produced by film slr mostly is because of the type of film used. if use lomography film like velvia, sensia , x-pro and others. and some say that have to do with the processing step also.
