By default I think it should only play 3gp and mp4 files, check the white paper for Xperia X8 below.

Resolution should be the native resolution of Xperia X8, then it should play fine on the device.

It's a bug in 2.1, though somebody doesn't have this issue. Turn your phone to silent or vibration mode before you plug in USB. It should solve the issue for now.

not sure if anyone else encounter the same bug...

sometimes, when i press and hold the shutter to sue the camera, my X8 would reboot itself... this doesn't happen all the time though... sometimes it reboots, sometimes it doesn't...

ve reinstalled the ROM but the problem persists...

it's running Eclair, unrooted...

Yes, I do. I have mentioned before, though some mentioning they don't have this issue, I thought I am alone. I have tried, any apps or even the original camera app would auto restart the phone frequently, for now I have not found any workaround to prevent this, very frustrating indeed.

Been trough that, had that bug when I was running OS 1.6, but it stopped after I updated to Froyo.

that's usually a carrier dependent issue... i know the X10 from AT&T in US are still stuck in Donut...

anyway, take a look at LG Optimus One as well... it's already running FroYo and will ve GBread...

well, let's jzu say X8 in South East Asia should not ve any problem upgrading to 2.1...

iirc Optimus One is abt the same price as X8, but spots a slightly larger monitor (3.2"), and the UI is very close to wat u get from stock Android (ie no branded UI like HTC Sense or Samsung Touchwiz)... the best part of Optimus One over X8 is that it runs 2.2 out of the box, and LG has plans to put 2.3 into it as well...
