not sure if anyone else encounter the same bug...
sometimes, when i press and hold the shutter to sue the camera, my X8 would reboot itself... this doesn't happen all the time though... sometimes it reboots, sometimes it doesn't...
ve reinstalled the ROM but the problem persists...
it's running Eclair, unrooted...

QUOTE(nenn @ Feb 3 2011, 11:03 PM) guys, i think next week, ill grab X8, any advice? n some X8 aren't able to update to 2.1.?? why? that's usually a carrier dependent issue... i know the X10 from AT&T in US are still stuck in Donut... anyway, take a look at LG Optimus One as well... it's already running FroYo and will ve GBread...

QUOTE(nenn @ Feb 3 2011, 11:13 PM) sorry bro, im nubis, i can get wat u say at all..heheeh LG O1 how much? well, let's jzu say X8 in South East Asia should not ve any problem upgrading to 2.1... iirc Optimus One is abt the same price as X8, but spots a slightly larger monitor (3.2"), and the UI is very close to wat u get from stock Android (ie no branded UI like HTC Sense or Samsung Touchwiz)... the best part of Optimus One over X8 is that it runs 2.2 out of the box, and LG has plans to put 2.3 into it as well...

QUOTE(ghost_301 @ Feb 3 2011, 11:53 PM) Yup, I echo what you said. X8 is really a nice phone, except it can't go to 2.2 or 2.3 for now, hopefully SE change their mind in the near future. It seems LG Optimus One is a better alternative if one is looking for X8. well, i did contemplate abt Optimus One when buying the X8 for my mum... X8 wins in camera, battery life and UI (hat off to SE for having an easy to use interface for first time smartphone users), while Optimus One wins in software and flexibility... in the end settled with X8 since it's my mum's first smartphone...

well, considering that X8 has only a 3MP camera with no AF, i think it's pretty decent... better than wat i ve seen on HTC Magic at least...
videos are particularly bad for Optimus One... heavily compressed VGA videos @ 18fps... at least X8 can record @ 30fps...
but i guess, the distinct advantage of Optimus One would be future software upgrades... that alone can allow the shortcomings to be overlooked, and they can be patched up with new firmware...

i ve juz flashed my mum's X8 to CM7.1 with nAa-06 kernel, but experiencing some issues...
1) the notorious soft audio issue 2) WiFi losing connection after a short while 3) laggy UI, particularly in Market... Market 3.4.4 doesn't help much
i ve resolved 1) already, but 2) and 3) are bugging me... i read that they re kernel related, but not sure which one would help... anyone can point me to the right direction?

QUOTE(Deani_77 @ Dec 20 2011, 11:02 AM) Don't use CM Official instead use MiniCM for X8... Official CM have a lot of unresolved bug. thx for the heads up... but currently i am trying to flash to nAa-07 but is stuck... i ve got FlashTool 0.5.3, Gordon's Gate installed, and the new kernel in *\FlashTool\firmwares... however when i click "Flash", i couldn't see the kernel inside the firmwares folder... and thus i can't proceed with any flashing... any way i can resolve this?
