Nah, not true. I just flash my phone without any reformatting on my pc. you know, restoring stuffs is very troublesome.

Seriously, my previous G900 perform way better than modified 5800XM driver in bokeh and macro effect. (Note: G900 cam is not very good, but i expect a carl zeiss lens to at least provide a better quality photo.)

I wan to try my first time on flashing my phone to cfw, what is the step to backup everything to my lappie? The most important thing is my contact list though. And what is the steps for flashing my phone? Which CFW is recommended for newbie like me?

Unless you're sick of the stock FW with the bugs etc etc, I suggest you to stick with your current firmware if you're not confident enough to flash your phone. It might cause brcking and can make you freak out instantly.

If you really want to try out, read a few guide first before moving on the flashing. AS a recommended one for newbie. The Pirated CFW is suitable for newbies to try out.


Really, my G900 is capable to do so with touch focus.

I cant accept the camera quality after i changed my c902 to 5800...This might be the cons of 5800

U want clearer take off the back cover. For that price tag and when this phone was launch its features and touchscreen its on the cheapest in the market

Suddenly 4 bars can drop to 1bars then without warning can suddenly turn off one because battery flat.

The camera quality still acceptable...but not as good as my previous phone...
i do not facing the same problem with the battery indicator

maybe my battery old di. My nokia 5800XM is about 1 1/2 years old di.
Funny part when i use the battery on nokia n900 the indicator is quite accurate at least it will annoying me many times before ownself turn off

So far doesn't encounter that problem but sometimes I wanna drain the battery when there's 2 bar left but don't know what program will drain the battery faster. Garmin perhaps?

Me and 3 of my friend having the same problem with the indicator, the first bar can last very long, then after the first bar, the others went down really fast. :s

I'm quite annoyed with a few things right now but dunno whether is firmware problem or not
a) sometimes need to restart phone when switching an access point to another as it will not respond
b) when the webpage is not responding it will lag for quite a long time and cannot exit the page
c) slow reaction when moving in and out the menu
and here and there little tiny stuffs.

So which pirated CFW you mean? Where can I start search for it and look for those guides?

When you get to know how to configure the settings, the picture quality is not actually that bad.

+1, the 1st bar lasts the longest, then it will drop to 3 bars in 12 hours time and the battery flatten out in another 2 hours.

The name of the CFW is PIRATED CFW. its not pirated from any other people. I posted the link on 9th page, try refer to it, but do it at your own risk.

guys,i got some problem about my 5800...my current software version is V20,i wanted to update it to V50..but i cant do it...when i key in *0000# to search for updates,it will shows no updates available.then when i wanted to use pc to update,the pc cant detect my phone,i think is the usb problem.can anyone help me?thanks alot...^^

go to your Connectivity > USB... which 'USB connection mode' you were using? try set it to 'PC Suite' mode and use latest Ovi software to update it via PC...
