You've just convinced me to not buy abyssus.

Time to save up for Xai.

but then, I actually wanted to buy abyssus as a "LAN party mouse" to be carried around to CCs and stuff. =/

My Abyssus went kaput after a week. doh.gif

I'll say go grip both mice and get the one your hand feels more comfortable with. Both are good enough for gaming at your budget.

Higher CPI/DPI doesn't make as much difference as using a gaming versus a non gaming mouse does.
*
The way I see it, it depends on the resolution you're using. If its like 1024 x 768, 800 DPI probably enough liao. But if you have a 30 inch screen and your gaming res is like 2500x...something you'll want something that has a much higher DPI.

The rubber coating(if any) will not be very durable and some ppl's mice just simply/randomly died after some time of use.
*
what mouse is that? can state the model?

well.. you're the lucky one i think.

Both my M8000 and M8000X failed, one failed with wheel problem within one month , and M8000X Dies with software failure as well as coating came off after 6 month of usage.

which i should i get abyssus or deathadder?
*

Depends on what you need?

I will say either get a DA, or consider for other mouse, I din't see any potential of abyssus to be graped. I really think that Abyssus is nothing much more than a ordinary 20 bucks mouse just with extra lighting and onboard memory.

Added on April 19, 2011, 10:51 amSorry for that, not so sure how about Abyssus's on board memory.

Of course it does(but it is not the way that higher is better shakehead.gif ).
DPI/CPI in short is the amount of distance(your mouse) you need to drag to move the pointer in your screen for a distance. Low DPI mean you need to drag long distance(more if your screen resolution higher) to move the pointer by a bit. High DPI mean you move slightly the mouse and the pointer already move whole screen sweat.gif

If you dont like to drag the mouse too much(tiring or took time), then go higher DPI till the extend that you can control(i believe not every ppl can control precisely 5600DPI...)

Definitely, I play all my COD with DA or Ikari Laser at only more or less 1k dpi, switch profile to higher dpi when only sniping.

High dpi made difficulty in mini movement, your headshot will slip away.

There is some difference. Some people really can play at high dpi and they can control it well. However, in that kind of situation, the accuracy and precision of the mouse must be very good to precisely follow you palm movement. A low quality mouse will even have jitter problem and the pointer shaking even though you are not moving the mouse at high DPI setting.

If say it is your secondary mobile mouse and don't want it to be over budget, maybe you can consider for Pyra wireless?

I would have put in RM50 more and hit up Logitech G500. Same sensor as Xai.

But different grip style and comfort wise.

Not unless you want a wireless mouse, I would say the DeathAdder is already a good buy for its price. Yes you are right, both DeathAdder and Mamba shares similar shape, Mamba is regarded as the bigger brother of the DeathAdder with wireless capabilities.

if u ask me, i would search for the 1800dpi version of deathadder.
else, if for somewhat newer mouses...based on sensor alone...and for ergo mouses...i would look at logitech g500.

The DeathAdder Black Edition should fit your criteria best. Good grip with the rubber coated sides, just that you sacrifice the LED.
