QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 17 2010, 05:35 PM) Halo all, IMO, same M3400 or E3100. Plan to get a 2.1 new speaker for my laptop. Consider to choose Edifier brand. -Budget RM150, can topup a bit. -Not require a loud speaker to boom my house, But I need a high and quality bass. I'm a techno and trance fan. -Size, colour, shape, does not matter. Even it looks ugly, I more on the quality power911 and metaloid suggestion me Edifier m3400/e3100. I need more suggestion as well as reviews. Thanks all. If you want convenient volume control, M3400 then.... |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 20 2010, 01:40 AM) My budget is tight. I hope I can get this wonderful speaker. M1380 is waiting me if I can't really afford M3400 From what i looked, the M1380 design can have good sound overall and kinda deep bass on the woofer but not loud. The satellites treble will have limitations on very high pitch sound because lack of tweeters. You can try audit yourself before you make the decision, thats the best way. I will go to lowyat this weekend maybe will simply audit that speaker....i'm bad because i used to crank up the volume without asking the salesman |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 20 2010, 05:37 PM) Remember to report how do you feel about the speaker you buy QUOTE(night @ Oct 20 2010, 05:40 PM) Just want to check with you guys. Is it alright if I mod my stock speaker cable to a 12 AWG cable for my soon to be Edifier S530D. Will be purchasing S530D soon and was thinking to change the speaker cable to a 12 AWG cable. Is it possible as I do not want to damage my speaker. Kindly advise me. Thanks! Speaker cable just to transfer signal from amplifier to your speaker, changing to a bigger size won't damage your speakers don't worry. You can try change to a better cable quality with same gauge size as your stock speaker cable, either pure copper or silver coated pure copper something. |

QUOTE(night @ Oct 21 2010, 12:57 AM) Planning to change my speaker cable to a better one and DIY my own 3.5mm to RCA cable soon. Will be dropping by Jalan Pasar one day. After that, thinking to buy a proper external soundcard from Jaben. Currently Ibasso Boa is in my mind. Hehe! Have fun modding and enjoy the potential of S530D.Thanks guys for clearing up my doubt. Am just worried since this is my first time investing so much in a speaker. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 24 2010, 12:20 PM) Yeahuuuu ! Do let it run in some time it will be better. Woo woo sound is the woofer port turbulence. Sri Com there sometime good sometime bad, sometime go there the salesman very kind sometime like very unhappy, sometime like dying there....all depend on mood one![]() I'm now Officially a Edifier owner ! Allow me to tell my story to you guys, I brought my M3400 in Sri Com@Lowyat Plaza because it is cheaper a bit compare to Viewnet. But I'm not happy with the service by the seller. The service was terrible ! I told the stuff that I want M3400 and he said wait. Then I waited for 10mins........ After that, He took the M3400 to the counter and my GF asked him " Buka test dulu ", and the male stuff reply "Ini ada warranty punya, tak perlu buka". And I just And the cashier, I paid her and and she give me the bill "Nah". Luckily my speaker works perfectly. End My review on Edifier M3400 It's so heavy(8.8kg) I carried from Lowyat to my house Sound Quality: 9.5/10 Loudness: 9.0 Bass: 10/10 Overall: 9.5/10 What speaker you can get with budget below RM16X ? Only the M3400 ! Joke of the Day: My housemate: How much you buy ah this speaker ? RM300 ? Me: No la, RM1XX My housemate: WTF ?! So big only RM1XX ? Thanks to power911, Edifier, Cosef, kko217, will92 and all Edifier fans for guiding me to get this wonderful speaker ! QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Oct 24 2010, 04:41 PM) M3300 and M3300SF has the same woofer, the woofer box design already not for low frequency bass although the woofer can respond to low frequency. The bass feel like more "woong woong" sound and the woofer will have port turbulence sound easily when on loud volume. The satellites for M3300 is real bright, has ear piercing treble. M3300SF said to solve the problem on satellites, using cloth dome tweeter instead plastic dome and a better enclosure and feet too. I didn't listen carefully on M3300SF, but what i experienced is at some shop it sound good better than M3300 but some shop demo set is worst than M3300.You can try audit carefully at few shops see whether M3300 or M3300SF suits you. Another choice is M3400, the woofer box design honestly better than M3300. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 25 2010, 06:12 PM) Fxxk Shxt ! My roommate curi curi use my speaker ! I purposely switch of the power and plug in my cable into the microphone. When I came back, the power is switched on and the cable was plugged-in the headphone ! And the volume controller is turned almost max ! WTF I ask them and all said don't know. Itchy hand roomate spotted. I'm afraid my speaker will damage if they continue using my speak. So anyone know how make the speaker unable to function or limited the volume ? Sorry Out Of Topic. I think Edifier speaker has done some stress test before, should be not that easy to damage the speaker. I haven't had my speaker damaged with max volume on woofer, speaker volume and windows volume at max for 10+mins....but my ear want to damage 1st.... |

M3400 has more on those kind of knocking wood sound while M3300 felt very thin and bright on its sound.QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 25 2010, 09:47 PM) Hey guys and girl ? (any chick here ? To me, every factor affects the sound. What does effect the sound quality beside the speaker itself ? cable ? Sound card ? Wire ? or even the position of the speaker ? Everyone can try to put this board under your satellites and woofer, reduce noise or vibration between table and speaker. This large board cost RM3.90 @ popular, cheap yet effective. ![]() My current design to fit my M3300 satellites This post has been edited by Cosef: Oct 26 2010, 01:08 AM |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Oct 27 2010, 11:24 AM) At about RM300, which is the best Edifier speaker I can get? About to make the switch from Sonic Gear. I love to have quite an amount of bass but definitely not the level of bass that is noisy (my kind of music isn't trance/techno). HCS2330@C2....but seems like seldom see that model already, it has good overall. Or you want to top up more to try out bookshelf speaker? Either R2000 or R1600T plus.I see there are also a 5.1 system that is near the RM300 range and also some 2.1 system that is near the RM300 range. Which will be better? Although I am not really looking at a 5.1 setup as I don't have much space to allocate for the speakers. |

S530D for me is a real hi grade speakers, it can perform like most Hi-Fi, but only at close range.
An external DAC helps improve the sound, finding more expensive DAC than speaker is not a problem, as long as it worth it as it helps to max out the performance of the speakers. Not only changing DAC and Speakers give you good sound, remember to find other factor to get squeeze out the performance like changing the speaker cable and interconnect cable, putting a board on bottom of the satellites speakers and woofer. More performance can be squeeze out by modding the amps too. Thats what i thought. |

QUOTE(night @ Oct 27 2010, 11:26 PM) I'm planning to change my speaker cable by modding my own one. Will drop by at Jalan Pasar to purchase all my modding equipments. Thanks bro for all the advice. You have just cleared my doubts. I am still learning and everyone at here have been a great help to me. It is good to learn DIY if you have time for it. QUOTE(will92 @ Oct 27 2010, 11:27 PM) What DAC good to pair i'm not sure, but one thing is external DAC is good because it get rid of EMI/RFI inside your PC, resulting cleaner sound. Honestly I never tried any external DAC suggested from forumer here, so i can't tell which suits it.I'm still using onboard sound card |
