Carlo hails Essien factor
'better than a new signing' QUOTE "I think he's better than a new signing," said Ancelotti. "We missed him last season because he's one of the top midfielders in the world. He came back and we're happy he can maintain this level of play. "He's fit now. We have to pay attention because he's playing well, all the games at the start of the season. He scored today, and that's fantastic. He's a fantastic jumper and I hope he maintains this position for as long as possible." "John took a knock on his ribs. We'll have a look tomorrow and I hope he will be fit for Wednesday. Tomorrow it will be more clear," added Ancelotti. "I don't think it's broken. He took a knock in the first half and played again for 60 minutes. But before the end of the game, he came off." SOS |

Not to underestimate teams all the more an away game. Chelsea should play with the regular 1st team then change when situation permits . Anchelotti knows best i guess, scouts would hv been deploy to gather info on zilina.

QUOTE(plokoon @ Sep 12 2010, 02:20 AM) Not our usual best today. I think you can see that the boys slowed down a gear or two after netting the 2 goals. West Ham had the better possession with the ball and we were left to chase the ball around. I'm thankful we got the 3rd before we conceded our 1st goal this season, it could be a different ball game if the score was 1-2. What a way to concede a goal by the way! Ex-Chelsea player, Scott Parker. Quite a cheeky lob that. yea i saw it...how come it happen? someone pull it off PS: Did anyone notice Drogba's torn jersey at the armpit area? Now that's CLIMACOOL! |

Thats why i said anchelotti knows best, its his job to man manage chelsea. I think whoever is rested last night might get a go in the champ league away fixture which cant be taken lightly whoever we are facing. Anyway whoever chelsea put out will be the strongest bar none as our squad depth is as we know is better then some if not every team out there. well the most positive outcome from the west ham match was undoubtedly GAEL KAKUTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! woot woot. a lot of respect for carlo who kept to his word and fielded gael, even under difficult circumstances. at 2-0 and west ham showing signs of a possible comeback, it would've been easy for carlo to just delay kakuta's 'debut' this season and opt for a senior sub to keep the game within our control.
but he didn't and gael rewarded the gaffer's faith in him with a very mature 15 minute display (he didn't giveaway possession even once, mind you) and two superb through passes for didier which he failed to finish; one a slide-rule grounder and the other was a lovely measured pass that sailed through the air (albeit didier was in an offside position when he received it but wasn't flagged up). did anyone else notice gael looked slightly more lean than usual? it could be more gym work. all in all it must've been an enjoyable evening for the lad. on to our new signing ramires, he looked very tentative at first and struggled to adapt to the pace of the epl. but as each half slowly wore on, u could see he gradually gained confidence and displayed some surprising bursts of pace to go pass players, and a good amount of aggression when it was needed. after he got used to our tempo, he kept possession with ease and did look like a essien/makelele hybrid at times. i sense he'll be a key player for us, this boy ramires! speaking of essien, the bison wore some springs in his heels and was determined to outjump everyone in west ham's penalty box. a bit shot shy which was uncharacteristic, but his headers were first class. particularly enjoyed the second one which left ben haim flat on his arse looking dumbfounded my only gripe is on didier, who looked a bit disinterested in the game and was careless in his passing. attempted some things at the wrong time and was rightly bellowed at by carlo on one occasion. i guess u could spin it a little and say he picked the perfect time to have a poor showing. time to focus on zilina drogs! |
