iirc, fastboot mode has the option to recalibrate the screen.

Fix ur Android 1.0 driver. Encounter the same problem previously.

1. Uninstall all the Android drivers
2. Download pdanet from http://www.junefabrics.com/android/download.php
3. Install then plug in your Streak. Driver will be installed automatically.
4. Proceed to root.

you mean uninstall Android drivers on my PC and install this one? and then plug in Streak?

Just got dell streak this week. The device is great, love the screen size and speedy (running on steve 1.5.1). The only problem encounter is with papago x5 that keep pointing on wrong location such as the junction should be 50m but notice at 300m and so on, point movement always jerking keep backward and forward. Have any body face the same problem? Is it because of papago or custom rom...

What i did:

1. downloaded the PdaNetA245_intl.exe from the above link
2. run installation
3. while installing, prompted me to connect USB to my phone, so i did and clicked OK
4. it says no phone detected, then i saw cancelled installation, saw an error with Dell Streak driver at Device Manager
5. i updated the driver manually
6. run installation again, and it's successful
7. run Universal Androot on my phone again, and selected Root for Superuser for Android 2.0~2.2
8. Failed ! No ~~~ Fu goo ~~~

plug in your device, uninstall it from device manager and then reconnect your streak to pc again. your drivers seem screwed.

if still failed, i have no idea

Cocoanut : What rom are you on ? If it is official Froyo, UNiversal Androot cannot be used based on feedbacks from several users. Why dont you try to root using this , which definately can root official Froyo:

OK, haven't try both Installing SDK and Benny's suggestion.

When I wanna access my SD Card (using Gallery, for photo) it says my SD is unmounted or not present (i believe coz of previous actions that mount/unmount it and turn the USB debugging on/off). I turned it off, took out SD, put it back, reboot, then i could browse photo on SD Card.

However, when i plug in my USB, it asked whether or not to Turn On USB Storage, chose Yes. But a few seconds later, a notification says Turn Off USB Storage, and i can't access SD Card again.

Is this a sign of ...er.... USB Driver error? Anyway, i can still browse files on my Streak's SD Card thru my computer though, with USB.

its like this 1.. just dun care.. when it says turn off USB Storage, the removable disk tab still pop's out on ur desktop pc..

Benny, i installed it...run it (wit App Installer), after a while screen appeared black but not rooted (?) coz i can't fake a market with MarketEnabler

i enabled USB debugging, ran Visionary+ app, chose Temproot now, then the yellow triangle logo appear telling me "rooting device, please wait".
a few seconds later, still black screen, what's left is only the notification bar

Bro StratOS , u know those super thin double sided used in hps to hold lcd , cover , etc ....together ? What is a good brand and where 2 get ? Got a Scotch double sided but it dun look that srong

Use 3M brand lo. Not bad but kinda expensive.

Scotch alone cost RM10.90 but not that good ..... ok , tx , will give it a try tomorrow . I feel like using supa glue , a tiny dot on each corners
