I just got myself a Dell Streak today and looking to turning it into FroYo. Looked and found myself the ROM by Stephen Hyde on MoDaCo. Don't know if it's worth upgrading and if the guide there is applicable to my device. I got it from ct-trade (thanks buddy) and I'd believe it's running on 1.6 build 4399 or something. Someone enlighten me please. Thanks.

You need to root and upgrade to 2.1 first before you can use Stephen 2.2. Refer here - use the build 6941

It is definately worth upgrading, world of difference. Most of us here are on Froyo

Oh god. I think I might have bricked my device on day one. Currently looping on the Dell logo. Managed to reach the 2.1 O2 Rom then when I proceed to the next step, on the progress bar moved a bit then error.

SOS. Help needed.

yeah, but then there was also a news rectified that Dell Streak Malaysia tweets wrongly and it will only hits Malaysia as soon as next year...
Heard that Singapore had held an event for Dell Streak launching on 22nd October 2010, but can't find any sources that link to the event...

After a few trial and error session, finally managed to get it to work. At 5am. Running on froyo now. Any recommendations on keyboard? Existing one looks and feel funny.

Now for the next mission. Getting a case for this monster. Anyone got used case for sale? Or advice me on what case is good. I'm having my eye on the original case by dell themselves which can fit into the dock.

Swype is good , kinda like it or Slide IT .... I posted a link for dl a few pages back .... u can check it out ....

The thing is, the keyboard when expanded is kinda short and stubby. Making it kinda hard to type accurately. Any way to make it taller? I got myself the better keyboard.

Added on November 4, 2010, 8:58 amWhy do you want to do this? This is a very useful utility and do not take much space. It is very useful incase your unit run into issues , unstable and you can reset it to factory's default . You need it too to update new rom versions

OK...but how to i update my clockwork recovery mod? coz i'm on 1.8.7 now, wanna update to 2.0.5

btw, Ultimat3, u can always update ur clockwork mod the same way when u installed it for the first time..

I installed vlingo because i often used it for sms. I find it capture my voice to text better. most of my sms nowadays i use voice instead of typing, pretty convenient and I'd say is 99 % accurate

owhh.. i never really used voice to text function that is built in the nexus one .. so dont think vlingo will benefits me..

now i'm using htc keyboard, but i need to set the lcd density to 170.. i prefer 140 /160 cause the text will be smaller and sharper.. but it forces close on lcd density anything lower than 170

guys , need a little help here ..... Any widget that enable me to see my events in my home screen ? Something like the HTC style or Nokia's E series ....... Calender is quite troublesome as I need 2 click on it to view it

If you use Launcher Pro, I remember there is a calendar widget to display entries on homescreen. There are also many other type of widgets offered by Launcher Pro. I use ADW.Launcher
