Weather widget and Clock is from Beautiful Widgets ( Home Weather) Thanks for sharing Benny. May I know what's the original density of the LCD? Why did you change it to 180? |

QUOTE(Benjamin @ Oct 27 2010, 04:21 AM) Thanks for sharing Benny. May I know what's the original density of the LCD? Why did you change it to 180? I change because the default 140 I find too small. 160 is a good size while 180 you will notice the icons labels not fully displayed. Changing the density will give a more balanced view of the icons and much of the empty spaces in between is covered up. Well some like the default. It's up to you to decide |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Oct 28 2010, 03:03 AM) That's why I said, semi-retiring it. Will still use it, cause I just ordered parts to fix it! Will be using the G1 as secondary, the new phone as primary. I know, I am very much sold. Just worried the shift from hardware to on screen keyboards. And I believe more in custom ROMs than official updates. So will stock up more info from reading in xdadev. For the meantime, keep on poisoning the hell outta me |

Dadaroach having used the nexus, hd2 on various android Rom and the
Galaxy S I am very happy with this dellstreak. It meet all my daily needs. Initially I was prepared for a lower performance from it as the bigger screen was irresistible. I must say it perform above my expectations even away much better than the 4in galaxy S. This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2010, 08:21 AM |

This is one issue which I was initially unhappy with. Anyway I bought another USB cable so that I can use in the car . It was inconvenient initially as I have always to remember taking it when I need to make outstation trips.Lower performance in the sense of? Oh yes, one more question. US or UK set? As from what I've seen and heard, UK sets comes with the UK and US spec power points, whereas the US only comes with its own regional plug point, is it true? Mine is UK set. Actually it is not any issue, can easily buy those plug adapter. That's what I did with my iPad. A few mebers here are using USA sets ; it shouldn't be any issue Lower performance ??? I was not too enthusiastic because it is DELL and I do not have any assurance they could make good smartphones. My son used a Dell Inspiron notebook - it failed him after a year. I have still the ancient Dell X51V pocketPC - it was pretty good at its time but just couldn't match the HP's PDA. Web reviews of the phone were too limited and not too many users were excited about it. I bought it solely for its 5" screen and I was prepared to have lower performance but I was surprised it gave me very good credible performances. My most frequent usage on the Dell are browsing, email, RSS, Tweeter, Facebook, EBook ( Laputa), Audible audio books - all these I am very happy , i give top marks no complains. Gaming - sorry no comments cos I don't play any. I tested Angry Birds ( cos it is so well known ) but sadly I still don't exactly know how to play it- must say the graphics and colors is awesome on it I say it is much better than Galaxy S because : the SGS is very laggy, program launch is slow ( at least 1-2 sec slower than all the Androids I have used ). File access, say using Astro File Manager is the worst - it can take up to 3 to 4 secs to access the directory. I have apply all the proposed lag fies, even tried unofficial Froyo roms - there is some improvement but not exciting enough for me to lavish any praises. I sold it off after less than a month - my shortest life smartpbhone I have ever used the past 10 years. |

I get you now. So far for me, Dell's have been good. Lost one of my laptops to a thief, and currently using one more. Did some searching, SG was suppose to have a launch. But still no news at all. |

QUOTE(DeniseLau @ Oct 30 2010, 07:04 PM) Guys I've been waiting for this phone for ages. There were rumors in last August that the Dell Streak will be in Msia based on a Tweet from dell Msia.Any idea when it's being released officially? I can't find any new news about this. http://www.soyacincau.com/2010/08/16/dell-...hands-on-photo/ Personally I don't think it will be launch officially here, mainly due to forecast-ed lack of demand of such big size smartphones. Most buyers nowadays goes for the 4 to 4.3" sizes. Your best choice is still to get it online from one of those local sellers her : Just google for Dell Streak in the search box http://forum.lowyat.net/MobilePhonesandRelatedAccessories |

7" isn't the Streak -- 7" is called Dell Looking Glass
based on Dell Malaysia's twitter post, they mentioned that it's already here in malaysia, just waiting for release And I remember that Star InTech also posted a review about it and mentioned that it'll be released soon |
