QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 20 2010, 07:32 PM) The below wireless tethering app works perfectly on Froyo on the Dell. I found the default is not working well and have also tried Barnacle which too is inconsistent Benny, i cant get it to work.. my other phones couldnt find the streak.. is there any setting i should change? like the channels for eg..http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-teth...e9.apk&can=2&q= thanks! |

Irenic: I used this only as a wifi hotspot to connect with my iPad and Sony vaio ( windows 7). No need any special settings. Just launch the app, press start.
On the notebook, choose wireless mode and the phone will be shown as a wireless point ( ID name is androidthether ) Infact now I am replying your query using my iPad using the Dell streak as a wireless point. I used to have a prepaid DIGI simcard in my iPad. But now I don't use anymore since I can now use my Dell streak, also save money having another line. The Dell streak also can connect with iMac . The iMac similarly use the Dell as a wireless point Maybe it won't work with phones . Anyway I never test with phones yet Under the app settings you can make your Dell streak a secure wireless point with password This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 24 2010, 10:29 AM |
