from what i read, hummingbird still slightly better or around the same than snapdragon inside DHD...

QUOTE
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon present in the Desire HD is reported to be the fastest (Snapdragon) yet with an improved Adreno 205 GPU, which Qualcomm claims packs in 4 x the graphical performance of the old Adreno 200. And if that wasn't enough, it can also reportedly pump up to 41M triangles/sec – about half that of the Hummingbird.

Like I said , everything is still on paper now ..... Results will be known when the actual device is out 2 do the comparison ..... Ppl tend 2 go in favour of hummingbird due to its GPU while the snapdragon is using a new GPU ...... Anyway , this is a streak forum so best keep it that way and not me alone but other members using sgs do agree , that phone lags ....... I sold off my Beam after 2 days usage , worst ever android phone i ever use .

Coz we got knowledge about other phones unlike Iphone users ..... If u ask them , "whats a good phone ? " Answered " Iphone " . . . . "WHY ?" ....... " Oh , coz it only got 1 button to play around , 2 buttons gives me headache " tongue.gif

on paper?some ppl do "benchmark" before saying it out...that is "review"
i just judge it is based on the information from trusted source

i know this is a streak forum but since u started to discuss about processor issue, i just join in..
but nevertheless, SGS is really have a bad lag(due to known issue that sammy still ignore it)

so ya,can go back right to topic now..

So how well does it perform compare to other phones of today? Lets look at some benchmark (Quadrant) numbers:

* HTC G2(using MSM7230 at 800MHz) - 1499
* HTC Desire HD (using MSM8255 at 1GHz) - 1974

Now compare these with other phones using stock clock speeds (i.e. no over-clocking allowed here!):

* Droid X with Froyo (using TI OMAP3640 at 1GHz) - 1431
* HTC Incredible with Froyo (using QSD8650 at 1GHz) - 1202
* Samsung Galaxy S with 2.1 (using Hummingbird at 1GHz) - 880 ( adding XDA lag fix should bring the figure up to around 2K )

from what i read in XDA forum,looks like Snapdragon processor is more favorable to Quadrant benchmark...

IMO,benchmark is really just a figure(which mean nothing) and most important is how u feel on the device..
i get 2200 score for my SGS with lagfix and still have lags..

Yes, I agree with you. My Samsung Galaxy S ( stock rom 2.1 ) after installed OCLF , quadrant hit 2250 !!! Whew - what a fantastic figure but still lag, slow launch of programs, mediocre scrolling and horribly slow access to files compared to my other HD2 ( Android MIUI beta 4 ), Nexus on Froyo and unbelievably Dell Streak

My best quadrant I have achieved on others : HD2 ( Android MIUI ) - 1628, Nexus One - cooked rom Froyo ( 1739 ) , Dell Streak 2.1 build 6941 ( 862 )

So just take these figures as just a guide of the potential. A pity that the SGS has great hardware specs but let down by poor software implemenation

Working:
Everything that i know of

Known Issues:
mobile data is turned off by default it can be easily enabled in settings
no apns are included as standard these need adding manually.

Known Bugs:
Streak will sometimes randomly reboot
after you switch off wifi, the 3G data will not come back on - reboot should fix
