Be prepared to wait for a week or two. Mine's been in for a week and it's still not done.

But unless you go pinjam Uncle Ian's CPS, then should be much faster la. But with your arsenal.. err..
Yea, that's the thing. I hate the waiting part.

QUOTE(MingKAI @ Jun 7 2010, 10:12 AM)
1.1k of course used la biggrin.gif..but after checking no back & front focus issue..no scratch or anything..sharp..ah...hentam la..

P/S: Seems like many ppl recommend 10-22 over 11-16..
I'll suggest 10-22 over 11-16 too for it's versatile range.

QUOTE(ianho @ Jun 7 2010, 10:18 AM)
Aiyooooooo, u think he dont have CPS ka?

QUOTE(d_lai_309 @ Jun 7 2010, 10:38 AM)
so what do you guys think about the 35L? thinking to get it for low light usage.
also wanted to calibrate my 24-70 with the body cause micro adjustment just manage to get some focal length sharp.
35L is a sick glass. Razor sharp and the range on a cropped sensor body is aweeeeesome. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ianho @ Jun 7 2010, 10:47 AM)
35L on crop not nice oredi. The special thing about 35L is the wide look with big aperture. What u need is 24L if u want the wide look.
Don't poison people too hard la. LoL. 24L can kill people straight.

QUOTE(d_lai_309 @ Jun 7 2010, 10:53 AM)
dont need wide prime yet cause got tokky 116, i need a lens to bring out at night for snap shot. maybe 24mm is too wide for snap shot or so...
If you are looking for night walkabout lens, you won't go wrong with 24L Mark II. This is one of my favorite among my 16 lenses. Love the sharpness. Simply beautiful!

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Jun 7 2010, 11:04 AM)
You better book them for a week if you are going to bring your entire arsenal there...hahahahaaha
I afraid one week isn't enough. isk.

QUOTE(Chiet @ Jun 7 2010, 11:04 AM)
One more thing, the zoom feeling on the Tamron VC version is too stiff compared to the really orgasmic zoom feeling on the non-VC version. One more reason that I chose the non-VC version after considering budget. smile.gif
After several ins and outs, it'll not be that stiff. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(d_lai_309 @ Jun 7 2010, 11:06 AM)
well, 50mm+ is good for standard focal length, am i right? hmm.gif  if buy 50L on crop then not standard anymore.
50 f1.2 L or The Mighty One(50mm f1.0 L) on a cropped sensor body is a little too long, at least for me.

QUOTE(ianho @ Jun 7 2010, 11:31 AM)
Seems a waste lor. Buying a 35L n then getting the standard lens look that so many other ppl have. No more special look. Hehe. With a 24L, at least u still get that special look that will make ppl go WOW! Still Wide n still got bokeh.  Anyway, since ur spending big money, go try it at the shop la. Surely they wont say no testing for a rm6k decision.
Buy both, 35L and 24L and problemo solved biggrin.gif

QUOTE(d_lai_309 @ Jun 7 2010, 11:49 AM)
yes tried the 35L in the shop and love the color and bokeh, maybe 24L is better on FF cause is wide. but FF not my future so maybe just stick with 35L at the moment. well, maybe u r right about everyone get the 35mm look but sure not many can get the nice 1.4 bokeh...hahah......just kidding, dont stab me
*
Sooner or later you'll join the ff side. Then you'll love 24L even more. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(jobneed @ Jun 7 2010, 11:50 AM)
Actually i like taking camera around to shoot some small objects or more easy to say is simply but perfect shooting...do i really have to get a macro lens? or normal lens will do for beginner?
For a quick start, get a Raynox close up filter

QUOTE(ianho @ Jun 7 2010, 12:33 PM)
Plenty of ppl got that look on crop for cheap by using Sigma 30mm f1.4. That's y I say get the 24L coz there's no cheap alternative to a 24mm f1.4 lens.  Anyway, if uve tried n like the 35L by all means get it. As I always say, BUY BUY BUY!
*
Alternative for 24L2 is the Nonac 28mm f2.8. But the IQ is ahem.

It is an add-on macro filter, not a lens.
Very nice to play with, suitable for macro newbies.
I bought it just for fun, to play macro sometimes.
I bought at only RM 240. biggrin.gif

Or get a real macro lens. Popular ones are like EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro. Can use for portrait and macro shooting. Does not really break your pockets too.

the Raynox DCR 250 works fine with 18-55 and 50mm lens, and any other lenses that are less than 67mm in diameter on the front element.

BUT due to the nature of the product, some zoom range may render it unusable. others may end up including the parts of the filter to enter the frame, making 4 black corners (no, it's not vignetting).

i end up using Raynox DCR 250 to troubleshoot motherboard, eg the LGA pins bent or whatever. helps magnify the view.

got 1 time the motherboard really refuse to work, so end up the DCR 250 magnifying glass used to view the pins to check for damage. tongue.gif spotted some misaligned pins (it was an LGA1366 board i think) so take blade and adjusted all back to normal. biggrin.gif

also useful when i want to video small small things.

at RM 250, she could buy probably 20 - 40 magnifying glasses and place it every where in the house, in every bag, in every car ...... and still can populate the other relatives' house wor.

i don't think so. Raynox DCR 250 is RM 250 only - don't expect it to be so power.

he probably just got himself a 100L + extension tubes or something. MP-E5 or whatever possible. donno him....... certainly not DCR 250.
