QUOTE(BRY7 @ Jun 16 2010, 09:27 AM) guys, where can i get the epikcase from? This is based on my experience and mine alone, but the fit of my epikcase is abit off. It clicks firmly all around the phone, but the problem starts there, it tightens the sliding mechanism of the phone, sliding up and down feels like the Motorola Milestone now. I gave up after the second day when i saw the warranty sticker on the back of my screen came off ! the rubberized one? how is the quality? i want feedback from the users.. thanks |

QUOTE(meLi @ Jun 16 2010, 08:52 AM) This reviewer need to use the phone properly. No Facebook and Twitter widget? Huh? Maybe he/she meant widget which lets you do MORE stuffs. And it mentioned about social networking app. Huh??? The beauty of N900 is these social networking is BUILT-IN to contacts. There're no need to install 3rd party IM, and there IS 3rd party IM apps, but not required. While others have to open 3rd party app, login, etc. For N900, everything is built into the Contacts and Conversations. This is the revolutionary and what others lack of. Clearly, many reviewers are still very un-experienced and don't know much about smartphones. They should learn more about smartphones and what it can offer before doing the review. There're so many things that N900 have that others doesn't. Just look at the previous pages talk about Desktop design, just Desktop design alone can be non-stop because of it's flexibility, we will see many different creativity and nice design Desktop. As for apps, sorry but in extras, there're just sooo many useful and nice apps. I have the iPod Touch 3G, I don't find many useful or nice apps, but more on entertainment and gaming. But N900 have many interesting and nice apps, and together with the support for Widgets, it's even more useful. Plus, I just tested, the N900 is capable of playing MKV files, in fact many more file format with the use of mplayer. BUT, playing 720p (HD) quality MKV on N900 seems take long time to buffer. I tested another lower quality MKV file, it plays but the video is slower than the sound, out of sync. But I know there're many configurations you can do to the mplayer, need to learn the configurations first (e.g. frameskip, etc). Smartphones it's about bringing computer like experience or being as close to a computer as possible, the capabilities, power, etc. That's the reason why Smartphones were created. For powerful smartphones like N900, one needs to put their time and effort to understand, explore, etc on the phone first before putting a poor review. Previously in older N900 threads, I mentioned about a Linux Magazine from India, the reviewer wrotes more than 6 pages of review on the phone and in the end, he mentioned that he probably just covered 50% of it but due to page contraints, he have to stop. Compare to our Malaysian review? LoL, even the HK ones, their launching is so detailed and introduce so many things about the N900. Clearly, Nokia Malaysia needs to buckle up A LOT. |

For iPhone everything depends on separate apps. What player did you used to play mkv files?I tried playing 720 video yesterday but sib refused to play it. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 16 2010, 10:25 AM) ^The reviewer probably long time iPhone user. T3 Malaysia reviewer also same...For iPhone everything depends on separate apps. What player did you used to play mkv files?I tried playing 720 video yesterday but sib refused to play it. I use KMPlayer, change the player to mplayer. But the 720p video I tried, it was buffering for more than 1 minute, then I lazy to wait and close it. Tried another lower resolution one and it can play (after a short while of buffering). For 720p, not sure how long it will take to buffer or will it ever start, lol. I'm now in the process of trying Knots2, streaming video from PC to N900. With this, you can even stream 1080p video. But I don't know how to configure the PC side yet, just installed the server on the PC yesterday. Anyone tried Knots2 and can share how to configure on PC side? |
