Listen , you need to know how VAC works anyway

Those who edited their decks , good luck. VAC ban will get you , if you've modified any core files. Thats it , just be prepared in 2-3 weeks time you might get VAC'ed. Dont worry if you have TF2 , CSS or some other games which uses VAC , you'll be VACed for this game


This game uses VAC (which is dumb anyway , who wanna cheat on card game , pfft) , so meaning that if you cheat or modify any files to give you unfair advantages. Steam calls it unfair advantages , even if you dont cheat but modify some things which are not meant to be modified then you'll be VACed

So jsut be prepared guys , those who joined that group and modified their deck

to me its not considered as cheating. Since your opponents also need the deck for it to work on multiplayer. Also if you're thinking if this modified deck can help you on campaigns...I don't see the difference between that and putting the AI on Mage level and finish the campaign

Editing decks is simply much more fun, for those who played MTGO, they know how much more fun it can be with just a simple modification.

The problem is not about fair or not. It is about modifying source code, business people do not like that.

well, if they mentioned to us in the beginning that the decks are not editable like MTGO...I wouldn't be bothered with editing anything. I only remember seeing the trailer on Steam and it clearly stated 850 cards available in the game.

There are about 10 decks available in the game rite? Considering there are about 30 lands each deck...let's say there are 40 game cards available. But that means there is only 10 types of cards in each deck technically. So...there is only 100 miserable cards in this USD9.99 game. Which come to think of it...now doesn't sound like its worth the money.

I believe the .wad files that store the deck list arent core .EXE or .DLL files, so you wont get VAC'ed. But dont come crying to me when you got banned But then edited decks shouldnt sync online anyway its pretty crap when edited stock deck did get thru.

Anyhow, the purpose of the deck editor is not to let player cheat. It was created simply just for the joy of deck editing, as stated on the mod site. They have big plans for it, like making a universal deck so every players can download the same mod and have fun in multiplayer.

I knew it may came to this so i guess this is what we can expect from the game mod potential. Since Wizard's dont like it, so we might just sit with MTGO if we really want all those deck editing action

Thats what they said for MW2 , and some console unlockers got them banned anyway , some even edited some other cfg related stuff. I am not sure about .wad , it could be core files as well.

The new update fixed the cpu usage issue, now takes only ~2-3% on my i7. Online region filtering also removed, so can get a match now almost immediately.

Not sure if its just me but I can't seem to invite people for ranked matches already after the update although normal still okay D=

stupid magic the gathering duels of the planeswalker bug.

pure blue deck opponent (random ranked match pubbie) casts evacuation.
i roll mouse to zoom in.
then the card stuck there.
big big big card. cover my screen. i cannot see much liao.

i still pwn him in the end.
mass calcify murdered all his creatures.
he had zero cards on hand so i know he cannot counter me liao.



anyone else try and see if can reproduce this bug.
someone cast evacuation then go roll mouse zoom in and see.

it just stuck 'login...' when i had updated java, Fx, OO.O and login to the steam site...

Just wait until the Summer Sale ends & everything should be back to normal.

I had a similar problem too, couldn't choose any card during a game. Then I zoomed in and zoom out a card and it was fine after that.

how come i cannot play the demo one.thought of playing first before buy...

What is the error / symptom that you're facing with?

i have download it. then when i click play, it redirect it at steam MTG page.

Try checking for the steamapps folder & run the DirectX installer (dxsetup.exe). If you're using XP, you can find the DotP demo folder in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common. That's 1 of the thing you can try as I suspect since the demo doesn't install DirectX for you & hence, you failed the pre-requisite check.

does the game have a deck editor yet, lol

last time i read about it for the xbox it lacked that , big time
