are you sure there's no changes?
as far as i had seen, 13-2 graphics are much worst than 13
full CG cutscene cut down a lot, which makes me not enjoying on 13-2 comparing to 13
i'm not a high quality graphic maniac, but 13-2 has bring down FF series' graphic level among the franchise
even during battle, sometimes u can feel the lag-ness which doesn't suit Wada's so called high speed battle in latest FF RPG
really need to thank M for doing this kind of shit
no offense to those who owned 360, but this is the outcome of asking to cut down the capacity of the game to fit into ONE DVD
Yeah so far I don't notice any changes to the graphics in terms of PS3 FF13 with PS3 FF13-2.
But when it comes to 360 FF13 and 360 FF13-2 they made improvements to the graphical dept there cause the graphics for 360 they had to tone down in 13.
As for CGI cutscenes being cut down it's not part of dumbing down the graphics of the game either. In fact cutting a lot of the CGI might allow better improvements in other areas of the game like FPS or Graphics but so far from the analysis I've seen from Eurogamer, I think it went to other places instead. Graphics still remain the same when it comes to FF13 and FF13-2 for PS3.
Especially the alpha blending problem for the character's hairs. Didn't change anything there from 13 either still looks the same.
In battles, the difference I notice from 13 and 13-2 is that 13-2 has a delay in executing moves but it's not FPS related. Probably processing or maybe it's intentional. I have to adjust to this change since 13's move execution is much more faster than 13-2's. In terms of FPS I don't notice any difference.
But a big difference when it comes to the Crystarium in 13 and 13-2. Since 13 is 3d rendered crystals the fps isn't that smooth there whereas for 13-2 it's much more smoother since it's just 2d there.
Also bear in mind that in FF13 they essentially had 3 graphic details for each character model. 1 is CGI, 1 is used for some cutscenes which are more highly detailed but you can't control and lastly is the lower poly model which is used for most of the game and we're controlling directly.
