depending on which type of spark plug you were using. as a matter of precaution, the standard proton copper ones is better to change at 10k mileage (it only cost 25 bucks) while the platinum should be good for 20k mileage.
other wise, upon checking if there is build up / burnt mark at the tip, it's about time to change.

Andy0625@
waja won't stand a chance against a spirited estima driver in straight line, so does myvi turbo. but waja could beat 'em in winding road / lotsa' corner.
same thing goes to vios, city and perhaps, myvi turbo.
i once raced my stock waja against a friend's bot'ed myvi down from bukit tinggi. he never appear in my rear view mirror.

if not mistaken , estima is 3.0cc right ? no replacement for displacement definitely but smoking them at corner is fun but it's pretty dangerous as the whole journey is raining though.

yngwie , you're the one who drive altezza aswell right ? wub.gif

ngk platinum cost around 45 to 50 bucks. iridium cost around 130 bucks.
nope. you could just change the spark plug.
some claimed that stromberg or bosch cable will result in improved performance but it's very minimal cuz' of the engine limitation itself.
rather use the stock cable and use the $$ for better quality drop-in filter.

no replacement for displacement buddy , what rom also same. laugh.gif
my engine really rev less nowadays as there's already power to push the car to a very decent speed during low rpm. well worth updating the mapping.

I change my platinum plugs for Rm55 + another 15 bucks for installation. iridium plugs should be around 130-150 , although expensive but in long term , it's much cheaper to runs as iridium is good to go for 100k km.

three sets of platinum that can last you 60k km which already cost 165 without installation so you do the maths. smile.gif

it's recommended to change the plug cable after a while as the older the wire the higher chance of higher resistance in the cable.

either platinum or iridium also wont go wrong , any brand will do. ngk , denso , bosch.

yngwie got a point there that those bosch sport cable and stormberg quadcore cable wont feel much differences but an old cable are having high chances of higher resistance than a new cable so in my opinion , it's better to change it.

K&N air filter will cost you roughly around rm270 but it's washable and you'll feel better torque in your car.

agree, no replacement for displacement
i tried playing with my friend's estima on straight road before too, very hard to catchup, here's a photo of my friend driving the estima with full load of 7 people in the car, and it doesn't take long for the car to reach that speed
oh forgot to mention, this is the old 2nd generation 2.4 estima, fully stock with 18" some more sweat.gif

daniel , in my opinion should be your 4-2-1 extractor that causes you losing out your top speed and my car is not fast at all. sweat.gif

danny : thx for sharing , wont play with estima next time. maybe i'm lucking playing with a normal balls driver today. laugh.gif

impossible
me also 421 with 17" still can touch 170, but barely...
so i dont think its his 421 only...might be some other worn out parts that need to find out
PS: not bragging, haha tongue.gif

seriously i still think that it's his 4-2-1 that causes this or maybe the mechanic that port and polish his car plus putting another kind of piston into it causes this.
daniel , better send your car to another mechanic with experience that works on engine.

i wonder how 4-2-1 headers will increase the topspeed since the higher range of rpm from 4-2-1 is not as powerful compare to 4-1.
btw , daniel , better send to another mechanic. smile.gif
