Hi , This is a just a short review . The PVR b.yond decoder is bigger than then normal b.yond decoder . It has a 500 GB hard drive and able to record up to 290 hours . I have tried recording some programs and it works well but i am not sure if there is a function that allows the recording to be done minus the commercials . Currently the few programs i recorded contains commercials which is rather annoying . The menu is rather simple , it can be accessed by the clicking on the home button .

[attachmentid=1619340]

We get the to choose the program we would like to record either by going to the TV guide or u can do at the channel bar . If u go to the the Planner section u would be able to view how much space is left in the hard drive , programs that you have booked , programs that you have recorded and all the tv series you have recorded .

[attachmentid=1619341]

Booked

[attachmentid=1619342]

Recorded

[attachmentid=1619343]

All series

The lock function allows you to lock the program you have downloaded , u need to enter the pin and it would lock the file and you wouldnt be able to delete the file unless you u know the pin .
*
wah... thanks a lot for your review. icon_rolleyes.gif
It seems the menu interface still same like normal Byond.
Only the software version a bit different. V2.0s2..
And the menu interface also not annoying like my older Astro Max.... laugh.gif The blueish colour and they're 2 navigator button on the remote....
May I know, before this you're using normal Astro, Astro Max or normal Byond?
Just wanna ask, the dish and wire need to be change also?

Finally got it installed today. But sad to say the PVR only having the zoom mode and pillar box mode. No stretch and fit to screen options.
*
What!!?? no fit-to-screen option?? doh.gif
Have astro sms you installer phone number before installation?

Yes! No fit to screen option nor stretch option. This is a major issue now.

Astro didn't sms me the Installer phone number but the Installer called me for an appointment before he came.
*
That's not a problem for me who always choose to watch SD channels with pillar box mode..,
The problem now, my mother, father, sister, and my little brother are more prefer to watch in "full screen" @ fit-to-screen mode.... sweat.gif
Surely the "havoc" condition that happened about 3 months ago will be happen again in my family after changing to B.yond PVR rclxub.gif
For now, i'm still waiting for installer to call me to install this PVR....

Yeap , thats right . I tried both option and it works superbly . Any idea how to record programs without the commercials ?
*
there's no way to skip "live" commercial in B.yond PVR. But you can use fast-forward button, isn't it? blush.gif
When I was using Max six months ago, I using fast-forward button on remote to skip commercial..

Just got back from doing survey for HTiB...

Haish.... It was so hard to find one that have COAXIAL INPUT for B.yond decoder... doh.gif

All of the HTiB that I saw at the shop around my area, only have Digital Optical input.... rclxub.gif

The specification for that HTiB was very OK for me.. but unfortunately only has Optical digital.... and suited my budget as well (maximum RM1400)

Panasonic and Pioneer one that only have at electrical shop around my area, all can decode dolby digital, dolby pro logic and DTS (Don't care about Dolby HD so on.. )

Anyone here can give some advice to me? Whether just get that HTiB and connect Byond using analog stereo sound output or better search for the one that have Coaxial digital input?

This HTiB system that I will buy just solely use for Astro B.yond (wanna hear 5.1 surround and get better sound than ffrom my TV) and watching DVD....

Tomorrow I will try to search from some "reputable" shop like Seng Heng or Courts.... How about if I buy from tesco? is that okay?

I think for northern state, the installation process will start a bit late than in Klang Valley.
because I haven't heard any people outside Klang Valley and Selangor got their PVR already.... cry.gif
I'm crossing my fingers that the Astro CSR said that Installation will be done before 21 June 2010.... shocking.gif

Some one, please help me... icon_question.gif
I have just setup the new HTiB
But I can't hear any sound from rear left and right speaker...
The channels that I tried to watch in DD was Nat Geo HD and WC HD...
the sound also was too low and I only hear a bit of bass...
My HTiB was Philips HTS 3373
And which one is the best Delay settings? I afraid to touch that.. so, default settings is used (20ms).. OMG! I will really appreciate your help... notworthy.gif

1.Have you adjust your speakers' gain properly?
2.Check your audio set up. like Dolby Pro-Logic,  DTS or .....etc.   Adjust to default.
*
1. Speakers gain? where to find that menu? blink.gif

2. My audio settings are like this, I setup my audio sources to COAX IN. When watch HD channels, the front panel of my HTiB will show DOLBY DIGITAL. But when I switch back to normal SD channels, it will change to 5 CHL STEREO. And you know, the 5 CHL STEREO are more louder and I can heard all speakers producing the sounds... shakehead.gif

I guess you will love your new decoder. Software much stable, much responsive, smaller size, more accurate recording, more capacity and it will show the remaining hours that you can record.
*
Danny..
the new PVR are more better than Max? isn't it? blush.gif

1.Now are all 5 speakers got sound when you watch HD channels?
2.When you switch to SD, the rear speakers got sound or not?

2. Yes! when switch to SD channels, all speakers producing the balance sounds...
