Those with CIMB MY & SG, how did you perform the 1st transfer between these 2 accounts, now that remittance service not allowed?

Is it using the Foreign Transfer or some other feature (DuitNow possible?)

Using Foreign Transfer, saw the requirement to declare the purpose. What category you normally use?

I got local sg bank account so just transfer using my local sg bank account.

Use cimb Malaysia. Telegraphic transfer the whole SGD1k

Huh? What no money lah said was the first 1sgd you transfer from cimb my to cimb sg. Then the rest of 999 sgd can use wise transfer

Cannot use that way anymore Cimb not earning money. Only way is cimb Malaysia or as intended local sg bank account under your name.

Weird. I just got my sister to remit 150 sgd to my cimb sg bank from her hscb bank yesterday and I haven't banked in the 1k sgd yet

influencers should always make sure their info is correct, if outdated, have to immediately retract their posts/videos. no harm in trying out the old Wise method, just need to wait for phone call only.

my friend's experience was this

• deposited $1k via wise
• 28 days later receive call to bankin via CIMB MY
• 18 days later acct finally opened. you do the math of grand total of days

You cannot use other people bank account. The money must come from your bank account under you own name.

They will close the account and refund you the money if you cannot deposit SGD1K by I think 30 days. Of course once open and activated can received money from anyone. Only the first SGD1k must come from money under your own name.

Uhhh... Guys my sg cimb account just got activated successfully. I didn't receive a call from them at all and got the pin and everything. I didn't deposit 990 into the account yet

10 sgd from Ekyc and that 150 sgd was for my dad's birthday ang pow.

How did I get my account activated?

Wait 30 days and see if account will be close. Maybe mistake on cimb part.

I'll still hv to transfer money but since it's activated I would use money match then instead of the compulsory cimb my to cimb sg.

BTW guys wise is not cheap any longer. Money match is cheaper by 25 myr?

Use money match or Sunway money for transfer above 10k. Office hour time. Compare both and see how got the best rate. See how you the most SGD per RM.

how long did it take to refund back into ur account? i called maybank hotline, the fella ask me to ask my imaginary RM

I have no idea. By right my account shouldn't be activated based on nomoneylah's blog. They call you after you transfer the 1k sgd. Then you get the pin to activate the account.

No idea why I gotten the pin first. Need the situs here to comfirm

you pick what you want to do next

1. activate MBB sg with S$200, then send S$1k to CIMB sg
   
   activate MBB sg using these steps from Maybank2u m'sia
   then once it's active, activate CIMB sg by sending S$1k from MBB sg
2. send S$1k to CIMB sg from CIMB my, ignore MBB sg. don't wait any longer as CIMB sg acct could risk closure if no deposit done
3. same as step 1, however, send only S$150 to CIMB sg, as experiment to replicate what Avangelice experienced
