Those with CIMB MY & SG, how did you perform the 1st transfer between these 2 accounts, now that remittance service not allowed?

Is it using the Foreign Transfer or some other feature (DuitNow possible?)

Using Foreign Transfer, saw the requirement to declare the purpose. What category you normally use?

[/list]i recommend opening MBB sg ar-rihla first instead https://apply.maybank.com.sg/regionalcasa/A...Opening/arrihla

Yea, I applied this as well, pending the S$200 transfer.
Wondering if I need more than 1 SG bank account?
What say you guys?

Uhhh... Guys my sg cimb account just got activated successfully. I didn't receive a call from them at all  and got the pin and everything. I didn't deposit 990 into the account yet
*
You gotten the email after money was transferred to your account?

I have received the 2nd email from CIMB SG saying my application is still pending.

What is the correct method to getting the account approved? Wait for the email or transfer money to it first?

BTW, I can see the SG account inside Clicks.

you pick what you want to do next

  1. activate MBB sg with S$200, then send S$1k to CIMB sg

activate MBB sg using these steps from Maybank2u m'sia
then once it's active, activate CIMB sg by sending S$1k from MBB sg
  2. send S$1k to CIMB sg from CIMB my, ignore MBB sg. don't wait any longer as CIMB sg acct could risk closure if no deposit done
  3. same as step 1, however, send only S$150 to CIMB sg, as experiment to replicate what Avangelice experienced

I managed to deposit S$1000 from CIMB MY on the 29th April, about RM30 higher than Wise rate. Dont want to risk them calling me days later.

Then the MBB SG debit card arrived after that, which I thought of not proceeding with the account, but since it arrived at door step, why not.

Now trying to fund MBB SG from CIMB SG, but maybe due to my limited exploration on CIMB Clicks (.my website) and even the CIMB Octo app, it seems I can't do anything with my CIMB SG money.

Supposed to receive info on how to create login to CIMB SG account right? Currently I find the separation of MBB MY and SG better for handling (like registering for PayNow)

Step 1: Activate Your Account

Transfer the initial deposit into your new account via FAST from your personal bank account with another bank in Singapore.Should you wish to perform a funds transfer from your CIMB Malaysia account, simply link your new account to your CIMB Malaysia Clicks Internet Banking. Thereafter, perform a transfer from your own CIMB Malaysia account to activate your new account.

Step 2: Access your account via CIMB Clicks

Your account will be activated within 5 business days if the documents submitted are in order and the initial deposit is received, subject to the Bank’s approval. You will receive a 6-digit Activation Code via SMS within 1 business day upon account activation for you to perform your First Time Login via CIMB Clicks.Download CIMB Clicks Mobile App and set up your Digital Token to perform high value transactions.

Thank you once again for choosing CIMB Bank.

CIMB Bank Berhad,
Singapore Branch

tropik have you activated CIMB Clicks SG yet? until they manually approve and give you OTP sms code to sign up @ http://cimbclicks.com.sg/, the SGD money is effectively frozen. can see cannot touch from CIMB my

activating MBB sg would've been faster. CIMB sg approval will take 2 weeks and above. so unless u are ok to send S$200 from MBB my, might be better to let the MBB sg acct die else you have the monthly S$2 fee waiting for you if you are going to wait for CIMB sg clicks to be activated

Is MBB SG strict about having the first transfer from another account under my own name?

What about via Wise under my own name?

Anyone here with Maybank SG account who didnt activate the debit card?

Any issue with that?

I'm getting 2nd SMS reminder to activate it.

Thought of not activating it at all since not using the card and to avoid fraud like TOS experienced.

I'm trying to transfer small amount for the 1st time using Money Match registered and verified today.

Tried from 2 source banks, status said Unsuccessful, debit status 'No status received from FPX yet'

What could be the problem?

Edit: only the 3rd bank managed to get through... and it's not immediately apparent the transfer will be successful...have to wait for the notification.

Will there be hassle with switching device for CIMB SG and Maybank SG?

Hope no need to go branch or ATM to enable usage of app in new device.

I see. Thank you very much for your info. I should at least give it a go when I travel to Singapore next time and at the same time, manage my expectation.

I personally went to DBS HQ last year to ask about it.
Went up to Level 3 or is it Level 4 in MBFC to enquire.

I was told since the Covid days, the Vickers team will only entertain you by appointment. They have also moved up to Level 14(?).

So I didn't get the chance to beg 🤣 or maybe I didnt try hard enough.

You perhaps can find out about this appointment thing and prepare ahead. Let us know if you manage to make it, all the best.

Vickers is their broker business, right? I just want a normal saving account first.
*
Then it's unlikely you will be able to open one.
At the counter they will tell you to do it online.
But you don't have FIN or SingPass...

Unless you are going for premier banking.
All in 6 figures (DBS, UOB, Stanchart).

You need the Vickers to open their normal savings account. No trading account, no savings account.
No need. I opened mine as a student. No money. No active income.

Bro, were you a student in Singapore back then?

But time has changed, so are their regulations.

Anyway, thanks for responding to my queries back then.
