Seems like cimb singapore account is taking longer to be approved. Made application and transfered to cimb sg from cimb my on 9 January.

Called cimb sg today and application still pending approval

You can try Maybank Singapore, if you have a Maybank Malaysia account. I applied online couple of months ago, it was approved the next day, and i transferred funds and started using it immediately.

I will say SCB cause their SCB brokersge is good (no fees) but loudy in terms of expensive Forex (hike up).

Best way is open CIMB Sg and open up independent brokerage.

For me, I won't go with either banks.

Thanks, SCB does seem to have better features that I will use compared to HSBC.

But meanwhile CIMB SG Fastsaver account finally got approved after 2 months.
Within CIMB SG Fastsaver I can open a USD/GBP/AUD account online

You don't need CIMB debit card. If you want you can apply for it. I think it cost SGS10. Reason CIMB ATM can only be found at their office and they only have one office in Singapore. Lol.

Between HSBC Premier vs SCB Priority banking as a gateway to open a Singapore based account, which would be better in terms of:

a) options of investment within Malaysia
b) option of investment within Singapore
c) speed to open the account at MY and SG

Thanks all in advance

confirm HSBC lah, top 3 G-SIBs in the world based on FSB announcement (JP Morgan, Citi, HSCS), too big cannot bankrupt in the world
For singapore side, top 7 D-SIBs is DBS, OCBC, UOB, Maybank, Citi, HSBC, Standard Chartered
For malaysia side, top 3 D-SIBs is Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank

Can still apply online. No problem. Applied last wednesday, thursday got email. Today (friday) already approved, deposited SGD500 via Wise and can access M2U SG right away. Tiger damn efficient compared to Sotong. Almost 1 month applied CIMB SG, still no tail no head. Email from maybank said debit card will be delivered within 7 days.

Apply here.

https://www.maybank2u.com.sg/en/personal/cr...gd-account.page

I just follow exact step as instructed there only. Click click click. 5 minutes all done. smile.gif

Just also noticed in the FAQ that Al-Rihla has the lowest minimum balance of SGD200. That would be a better option than iSAVVY which has SGD500 minimum balance.
