Take day off and go their office in KL.
Alternatively use moneymatch. More expensive than instarem.
Another choice use Transferwise. Heard they have account to transfer to SG already but not sure who's cheaper. Instarem or transferwise
That's the only way.

oh no, then the online registration is basically useless.
because penang to kl is not near at all...

want to ask:
the cimb fastsaver acc registration procedure is like below:

1) register at cimb sg online website, fill up all details and upload documents needed (i done it)
2) get my SG cimb acc no (already get once fill and submit step#1)
3) link SG cimb acc no to MY cimbclicks. (i clicked link acc today, status show application in progress pending approval)
4) transfer money from cimbclicks malaysia to that linked SG bank acc SGD1,000 (must send the money from MY CIMB to SG CIMB? or can use instarem or my SG fren bank acc send SGD1000 money to SG CIMB?
5) then done?

No is not. You can register first then go down to KL and meet them face to face for KYC. Transferwise just got license to transfer RM but haven't set up shop.
Want cheap of course need to do some work la.
Take 3 days leave. 1 day for you to travel down, 1 day for you to open account. One day to come back to penang.
I went down to SG and open my own account. And SG to where I stay is further than penang to KL. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif You can take a ETS down to KL, ask the Instarem person to meet you at KL sentral then go back.

Read back few pages on how people do it. I can't help as I did it the old fashion way. Open account, transfer in SGD1000 from local SG bank.

why me la aiyor, i saw others open get activation code less than 2 days.

good things about CIMB is no inward remittance charge, so I
- dont need charged S$10 whenever withdraw from IB
- dont need charged S$10 whenever fund SG bank account using instarem?

Maybank iSavvy has this S$10 inward remittance, quite painful for Malaysian tbh

If the money from local SG banks no, if money comes from Malaysia then yes. You just need to test and see. I suspect no but could be wrong.

Just transfer from your CIMB MY $1000 to CIMB SG when you can see the account in your cimbclicks MY account and you are done. Maybe its not the best rate but its the only way except you have another sg account UNDER your NAME to do the local $1000 transfer.

You have to use your own another bank's SG account to transfer, or you need to use MY SG bank to convert and transfer, you cannot use other's account to transfer, that's what SG CIMB cs told me

iSavvy will charge you if you do not maintain SGD500 in your account. I just got to know the hard way.

and also charge you S$10 if you withdraw from interactive broker, treated as inward remittance fee.

but i check CIMB FastSaver account kinda best

1) no inward remit fee
CIMB SG rates and charges

2) no fall below minimum fee

Need to read the TnC first. Keeping SGD500 inside is nothing if it let you have SG bank account.

No choice. Now with IB I don't need to bother about having Std Ctd

Upgrading interface means need to fork out money. Who's going to pay for the look upgrade?
