I have maybank and scb. Can I asked referral letter from this 2 bank to let me open account?

Ok, the staff was wrong. They called me and say 2 things are missing. 

1) My demand draft of SGD 500.
2) My local income tax no.

Got both done this morning and they say they will courier the docs over to Singapore today.

My sis went to Penang branch to open iSavvy account, and being ask whats the reason to open the account.

Wanna ask what reason you guys use?
Saving seems not a good one.
Education requires supporting document.

Anything online can ... tranfer funds in , transfer funds out.. online banking stuff is not an issue.

only that i curious call them ask if I can use the DEBIT CARD for shopping... and if i put into MAYBANK singapore atm for withdrawal she say cannot. Need walk into MBB SG to activate pin no.

however can withdraw from MSIA ATM using the pin that was mail to us.

No opening of USD via online. If you want to open USD, have to visit the bank. All SGD banks have fal below fees if your USD drop below certain amount.

If you want multicurrency, UOB, OCBC, DBS all offer multicurrency account.

The question is whether they want to open for you or not.

The only bank which won't charge you fall below fees for Multi currency account is Cimbif you are their Preferred customer   

Cimb SG la. Want fast? Use HSBC or Citibank lo or Standard Chartered. Open priority banking with any one of them, ask them open Multi Currency (valid for citibank and HSBC, Standard Chartered doesn't have Multi currency account).

Must be priority with SG side also.

Maybank side. You want free transfer, transfer to Cimb. Then go straight to Maybank. That way you only pay once at Malaysia side. But not sure if there's a third party between Alliance and Mayabank

Eg
Alliance -> Maybank - no third party so charge theoretically should be SGD10 unless the bank charge SGD20
Alliance -> 3rd party  -> Maybank so this charge can be SGD20-30 as there is 3rd party involved

Some people said when you transfer money overseas, it is converted to USD first before being converted to SGD.

I haven't try to TT money yet. But this is what I know.

For SG standard, cimb is decent at 1% pa without needing to furfilled any condition. Good parking place while waiting for opportunities in the market.

Once you have online banking with maybank sg and can initiate a FAST transfer (like malaysia IBFT), you can apply online for a Cimb Fast Saver account.

To activate the cimb account, you will need to initiate a one time  SGD1000 FAST transfer from any SG bank into the Cimb bank account.

Failing to do so will cause the cimb account to be close automatically after 30 days.

Yeah. They let other banks do the checking of customer for them.
They don't accept TT for activation. Only FAST transfer from a SG bank.
Yes they have. Even better. If you are a priority customer with them, you have access to multi currency notes with them without any fall below fees.
However you cannot move SGD between one SG bank to another via online. (unless there are ways which I don't know)

for those don't want to wait the PIN mailer for Maybank SG online registration, there is an alternative if you got all other docs and debit card.

1. Active debit card
2. register online banking @ www.maybank2u.com.sg, select debit card and pin.
3. use the debit card number and the debit card pin mailer
4. enjoy! smile.gif
