QUOTE(li_5997 @ Feb 11 2012, 10:14 PM) I heard lots of ppl is using lm semin synthetic... How much does it cost? and how about the oil treatment.. rm110-118 IINM and the oil is more for protection/quiet engine than performance. if you want performance id recommend torco instead. My car is facing overheating problem most of the time, so does the oil affecting it? as for overheat problem, lm oil may or may not solve it though it DOES reduce engine friction guaranteed (lower noise/vibration is a very clear sign of lowered friction) if it persists, id recommend to do a FULL coolant/radiator flushing (flush from engine block and not just radiator) then do a 50:50 ratio water + forged racing coolant. if you still face overheating issues, and/or coolant leaks, do check where is the leak, or check if the radiator fan is working properly, or check the water pump if its working properly. all the above parts are wear and tear products and they do get worn out/malfunction in due time. |

If compare LM with Chemlube semi synthetic oil? how is your opinion about itas for overheat problem, lm oil may or may not solve it though it DOES reduce engine friction guaranteed (lower noise/vibration is a very clear sign of lowered friction) if it persists, id recommend to do a FULL coolant/radiator flushing (flush from engine block and not just radiator) then do a 50:50 ratio water + forged racing coolant. if you still face overheating issues, and/or coolant leaks, do check where is the leak, or check if the radiator fan is working properly, or check the water pump if its working properly. all the above parts are wear and tear products and they do get worn out/malfunction in due time. oh yea, what is forged racing coolant? any recommendation on it or example or brand.. thanks This post has been edited by li_5997: Feb 11 2012, 10:26 PM |

I heard that Torco is good for performance. But then, is it only applicable to FS oil? how about SS oil?
Good quality SS oil is much better than so so brand FS oil. Anyone agree with this statement? |

Torco SS is good as well, i'm a user of both torco and lm, and i dont think i am switching away any time soon Good quality SS oil is much better than so so brand FS oil. Anyone agree with this statement? and yes, highly agree. what you pay is what you get, especially in the very competitive higher end market. |

Not torco yet, planned to get it on next service. When I was using LM, my engine is quiet but somehow I felt that it's not that responsive for my car (might be smthg wrong with my engine? I doubt). Currently I'm trying Lexus FS oil, i cannot give any comment yet as I just reflashed my ECU last week. It's very responsive so I don't know it's the oil effect or Killerom effect. Lol and yes, highly agree. what you pay is what you get, especially in the very competitive higher end market. |

Lol my iswara is damn responsive, however if wanna compare to my sentra that uses torco, cannot fight at all and thats why i've said if you want performance, look at something else like torco. however for engine quietness/performance etc, can't go wrong with LM. |

QUOTE(vinorgouki @ Feb 12 2012, 10:23 AM) they are mainstream oil. its not that they are not good. its just that theres better oil, and oils like shell are good for what its worth.Added on February 12, 2012, 7:05 pm QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Feb 12 2012, 12:03 AM) i have a combination of lambda primer done, lm xw40, and ceratec for my iswara. how to test 1 by 1? both ceratec and lm xw40 are already in my car. and primer is before i oil change (and after oil change put new lm xw40 and ceratec) lolYou put all these inside your Iswara at one time? Can I test them one by one? This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Feb 12 2012, 07:05 PM |
