@harrychoo

Yeah its semi-syn biggrin.gif Judging on the price, RM98 should be the semi-syn Super 2000 smile.gif

@VeeJay

Bardahl synthetic is the cheapest .. fully syn for RM85 only. Semi syn RM65. Mineral RM59. But the packaging is in approx. 4 US gallon,, equivalent to 3.75litres .. I used the mineral before .. very good smile.gif

im using:

Brand: Syntium 800
Model: 15w-50
price: got it for free
Feedback: normal. dont think its the best. i used it cuz i forgot to check my engine oil and tiba tiba red light already blinked. luckily got one 4l package in the car (got it for lucky draw). engine power felt okay but not so much compared to penzzoil (but i forgot which one cuz my mechanic filled it in for me before it went dry)
rating: 4/5...

but in future, im planning to go for syntium 5000 or syntium 3000
im petronas staff, so got it cheap
anyone tried these?

Usually the mileage for semi-syn is 6000km. But if you're in a tight budget, or the engine oil still performs well enough, can last around 7500km ..

Mineral -5000km
Semi-syn - 7500km
Fully-syn - 10000km
wink.gif

But based on my engine oil change interval sticker that my mech stick on my windscreen, the mileage is 5000km only .. but who cares, I'm gonna use it until 7500km laugh.gif

But again, engine oil is cheaper than engine. So judge on your own nod.gif

Your engine consumes engine oil ? Even when you're using minerals ?

My current service regiment.

Brand and Type : Royal Purple XPR 0w-30
Price : About 350 ringgit for 5+ litres required
Service Interval : When i feel like it, sometimes i do 13000 km before a service.
Feedback : Erm, i've never used any other oil so regularly, but it was an improvement over the Mobil 1 0w-40 and Motul 300V i used to use.

It's a great oil and my turbo bearings love it even with the extra boost.

I also use Redline MT-90 for my gearbox. Best shifts i've had in ages and the FS5R30A loves the oil to bits. I'm usually an objective person, but the difference between Redline and my old Motul Gear 300 is like night and day.

I don't live in the states. Live in Australia. And it's actually more expensive.

What car do you drive? A fren of mine had a pretty bad experience with Redline's MT-90 on his Version 8 STI Impreza. After awhile he said shifting the gearbox feels like moving a really heavy stone laugh.gif After a few days he changed to Motul's 90PA and it was alot better. Same like you...like night and day but the other way around hahaha laugh.gif
